Tracc was great the other night but it was also great to see Clarry back to his one touch brilliance...hitting the ball at speed, puts the hand down and takes the ball so cleanly. He's had a great year but I think he's coming back up to another level as we head to finals...
-
It's just the way it is now unfortunately. I think the value of an MCC membership has diminished over the last number of years anyway. Despite what the Prez says in the letter, the only real value in an MCC membership is going to games including finals. I used to like walking up to any game. Even pre Covid it was getting harder to do unless I stood, which I tended to do more of.

I do 'Kent'... When he said that you should never listen to coaches when they are talking the good of the game. It's always in self interest. I thought on this occassion he was spot on.

Here's a thought. We either get him or we don't... The whole academy thing apart from the Northern states has been a complete stuff up by the AFL. Again it's Gill and co trying to please all the clubs. Should have been left with the Northern clubs only as that makes some sense but only if the zones are tight and not fluent and encroaching on AFL heart lands like Southern NSW and the NT... The Dogs were lucky to get a break with this one. Can't worry too much about what we haven't got.

Harmes had a shocker and he knew it...head was down just before 3Q time and his teammates tried to rally him. I hope he can turn it around this week...one more shot at it I reckon but need to take first options. Sometimes thinks he's Dusty.

Just hanging in by the old boys network skin of his teeth... A throw back to Sam Newman model of special comments person. Tell it like it is...hardly, he has no idea what it is he's watching.

Petty - his breakout game

Ha, ha, ha, ha ....the Goody haters got to hate. How dumb do you all look tonight??? No need to name names, you know who you are.... Hahahahahahahahahahahaahah. Moronic posts over the last few weeks. The season is long, we were always going to have a down period. Hahahahahahahaha

Yep...and when the bully boy gets on his high horse you know that's closer to the truth than he would like people to know.
-
You can almost guarantee that Clarkson will announce he is stepping down next week and his last game as coach will be v us at the MCG round 18. Sorry, been reading too much of the Demonland pessimist posts....sack everyone.
-
If he goes he goes...he's not the messiah, just part of a good coaching group with us. We look to someone else. For the life of me I never understand how we over blow someones achievements to be almost god like when they are just doing a good job. There will always be someone else around who can do a good or better job. Just not the same...cut and paste this to the Burgess thread or anyone else on the way out.

Yeah, I'm with you here 'bin'...it's not mental exhaustion. We've hit a brick wall and that points to heavy training loads. You could see it with Max going back to the Pies game on...he's just not covering the same ground. I'm not talking about a skinny kid or ageing veteran, I'm talking about a player in his prime. We could be way off the mark 'bin' but as I said to old mate 'Kent' of the sack Goodwin brigade, the next few weeks will tell the story.
-
No, but kids add energy to the mix and we have been lacking energy recently. That fact that he is an excellent decision maker and kick won't go astray.
-
Rivers and May are definitely run and gun type players if given the opportunity. They've had to defend hard recent games because of the mids being down a bit... My question is when do we look at Bowey and does he come into the back half at the expense Hunt who either goes forward or out of the team?
-
They're letting players waltz through the protected zone to cut the quick play on...it's subtle but is happening. It was enforced early in the season but not now. It has to be absolutely obvious now. I think it has made a eunuch of the rule...
-
No, the AFL buckled on this one. The umpires have not enforced the rule as they did in the earlier rounds unfortunately. It didn't suit Geelong for one...

At his age any calf is serious...particularly a recurring one.

They had the same huge game last week and didn't bring the heat...would have been in the 8 if they beat the Hawks.
-
I think the weather will probably go against including Brown this weekend. Looking at rain and periods of hail...for Saturday afternoon. Hardly the stuff of key forwards. If anything we might go in even smaller. ...but I suspect no change.

20yo mid, hard at it, tackling machine who finds the ball and uses it well. Give me some more of that run of the mill...
