They've been asleep at the wheel since around 2021, got lucky with the flag but all the in fighting around the club has killed it. ...and all the Mr Magoo's around here voted for the status quo...

Had the pleasure of being at both those games. I was that traumatised by the 88 GF that when waiting in the MCC line at the 2000 GF I made the decision at about 7am to go home. I knew EFC would smash us and couldn't bare being there.

It really concerns me...for a start I don't know whether Smith is the man for the job but he is encumbered by a board that has taken us from sweets to boiled lollies. This is a board most on here were happy to back. Guerra has zilch AFL football experience. September means another lost year.

Jeffo has had a good run of games...probably not up to it, definitely not ready. Kentfield's time will come. Adams hasn't really played a game the demands selection. Laurie has been tried and found wanting. The only thing I would like to see is maybe getting a run in the midfield. Mentha is a long way off it but has some promise. Culley has just started to show a bit playing some more mid time, would like to see him get a run. Brown, love his endeavour but disposal really is the issue. Woey has had his chances.

As silly as this seems, we are already seeing this in games. It happens where players will stop & look at each other.

That's true but you can only do what you can do. AJ is probably next man in. I think Kentfield is really promising but for his development it may be best to leave him a Casey for the rest of this season as he hasn't had any preseason. Happy for him to play if the FD think he's up to it.

I don't think Bailey Laurie's extension is causing us a lot of grief at the moment but I get your point. I think a lot on here thought and still think we had a list that should have led to more flags. A dynasty... Personally I've always thought we got the most from that list to win in 2021 but had some big holes in it that needed to be addressed. The point about the professionals rings true to me and I fear they may have misjudged the list as many of the amateurs here have. I think our biggest issue was off the ground and the transition of power away from PJ...a lot of time was taken up with internal struggles and peripheral issues, the eye seemed to be off the ball so as to speak. Time will tell but some decisions as you say don't look that great. With better oversight and more focus maybe we would have been in a better position... but that we will never know.

...but it's May. Lets say it was Darcy Moore in the same position. The whole football world would say it was a football act and he was going for the ball. May is not Moore and it's doubtful that he gets a fair hearing.
