  1. On something so straight forward...really
  2. According to the AFL's defence against the class action it must be Mark Keane's fault for playing & the Crows for putting him out on the ground. SPP has no case to answer...
  3. We sure do 'dazz'...
  4. I think Salem is such a smart player...his quick hands and thinking around the contest if back to full fitness will be a positive. Plus he is a strong tackler. So, his ball use and defensive pressure could be a real positive in the midfield.
  5. I would play Verrall ahead of Schache. Definite option for me...
  6. Not sure he was a good list decision. Forms been ok but... did we need to go down this path.
  7. I'm not so bothered by the culture 'bin'... I always find that talk a little flimsy with all clubs. Of course if we don't perform well on field this season then the C word will be all over here and the media. It's going to be a tough year. We are 5+ down before we start the season. 2 will not be back. 2 are pretty much done for, Tommy and BBB. Melk is out for at least half the season. Who knows how things will pan out for Clarry. Petty can't get on the park. It's going to be tough, good culture or not. List management might be an interesting discussion. There have been some puzzling decisions the last couple of seasons.
  8. So was ours... No one expected us to play finals let alone win it.
  9. Agree... Many on here have fallen for this one. It's a good/very good list as you've pointed out, we were never a super/generational team. To many holes.
  10. Has he played an AFL Game yet? Notable seems a bit of a stretch.
  11. I will give him a break as he has had an interrupted preseason but will need to get a wriggle on. ...but will need to show some good signs this year.
  12. Maybe we thought other things were more important. This is a good point. He certainly struggled, be interesting to see if he gets another shot against Carlton. With Brayshaw & Salem back yesterdays performance puts him further down the order.
  13. Will be 923 years old by then... ...and they reckon Geelong have an ageing list.
  14. We do need a fit Petty, It's why we held... ...at least for the next few years.
  15. A little bit like your presumptions on Goody...
  16. That's the same for all clubs... Luck plays a bigger role than most give credit to.
  17. I get everyones frustration (it frustrates the hell out of me also) but my guess is as the AFL pushes it's season earlier and earlier there are just no grounds available for VFL & this would be the same even if it were an AFL reserves comp. It's still cricket season.
  18. Absolutely 'Tim', a boutique club needs to be smart and in the area of fan engagement we're really dumb. The current board and management to my view are riding squarely on the coattails of Peter Jackson. When he moved on we needed really forward thinking, smart people to take the rebuild and then push it to the next level. Have the club seen as cutting edge, an exciting club to be involved with and support, not weighed down by conservative management. This hasn't happened. We seem bereft of ideas...
  19. That's been the issue... Yes, he would have been fit to compete ...but he hasn't been competitive Would he have come good in a big final? I guess those that should know thought not
  20. The club could really learn al lot from Taylor Swift... Now they're probably not going to get an audience with her or her people but that could track her career from the start. Her fan engagement was 2nd to none. It's why she is so successful and has such a rusted on fan base. Her talent of course helps, if she was a no talent no amount of fan engagement would help. ...but she did is so well. We really are wasting a golden period for the club. The management needs to be brought to account on this.
  21. I said sustained success 'picket'...Glitter has had nowhere near the career. She's been topping the charts for over 15 years now. Personally I don't like stadium shows at all...much prefer more intimate venues with musicians really playing, taking chances and not just regurgitating the record. She''s not my cup of tea is Taylor but the girl has got a load of talent.
  22. '@hardtack', you just reminded me of this after mentioning Ian Hunter on another post. He released a new album last year...84 yo, this was the first song released (Ringo on drums). Reckon it would have been a hit back in the days when such things existed. It's a strong album with lots of interesting guests and the title Defiance - Part 1 hints of more to come.
