2026 Supplemental Selection Period draft prospects
I would be taking players on ability, not because of worries about an ageing list. If they are the best available then yes.

Farewell Clayton Oliver
Let me add that he was always a clean, one touch player. He had lost that ability and was uncharacteristically fumbling. A hand injury was probably the initial cause followed by a lack of confidence. Whilst fitness alone won't fix this attitude will go a fair way. Lets wait and see but to be honest it will only be a passing interest for me. I just hope he's doing well outside of football.

The New Home Base & Training Ground Thread
We have no cards to play if we move 'Distr'...the only cards we hold are if we stay. If they are so interested in Gosch's let the Government push through the Caulfield deal & get it moving for us then we can shift to Waverley for the interim couple of years. Everyone Happy...

INTRACLUB: Friday 13th February 2026
I was wondering who that was, yes he looked good today. Nice hands & can find the goals. Well worth at look at.

A New Dawn for the Dees Midfield
Not quite right...There is a reason the Hawks were after Merrett. Class still counts in the midfield. Geelong is going hard for Butters, Danger ran out of puff by the last game Both their current setups got them there but didn't win them the flag.

Same, 'wayne'...I can't see the point in moving from Gosch's if it's only an interim move.

The New Home Base & Training Ground Thread
It's doubtful we will be able to fit...that's why Hawthorn left. Not sure on this but someone mentioned gym facilities are shared with the community. If that's the case it's probably better to share with other professional organisations. Is this really that important??? if only for a few more years then surely not...and it's not as though they are a great distance away. A quick walk over the bridge. The big issue I have with Waverley is I would only accept it as an interim with Caulfield signed off, and even the can't really see the point. It looks like smoke and mirrors to me.

I Hope the AFL Watched the Superbowl Halftime Show…
Um...just had a look. My view... It was pretty good. Would I buy the music? no... Would I stream the music? no... Would I watch again? probably not... ...but it was good viewing.

I think this is why we should have no need of an interim facility (Waverley)...we already have Goschs and Casey.

Completely agree 'Red', but unfortunately I don't trust this board to get things right. It would be another in a long line of poor decisions and covering a.... Yep...

Not so sure, Kozzy will be a handful and we still have Steel, Sparrow and Riv for some muscle. The mix is going to be interesting.

The VFL competition
Kind of but different...the local VFA teams had a core supporter base not much more than an average local team. A lot of people aligned to a VFA club when it was on tele, but they were never hardcore supporters as was seen when the broadcast disappeared. The VFL clubs were poorly run but the supporter base meant it was always an attractive proposition for sponsors and broadcasters. The big money that came in from interstate saved a lot of embarrassment. The timing couldn't have been much better.

The VFL competition
I tend to agree with you 'picket'...the current system is broken.

The VFL competition
The VFA was dead in the water, the AFL then using its bones to create the re branded VFL kept a lot of those clubs going. If the AFL go to a proper reserves comp then there will be no VFL. It wouldn't survive. The non aligned clubs barely scrape through now.

I know they were making offers on properties around the back pre Covid...I guess a lot has changed since. I must admit I haven't noticed student numbers... Very interesting.

State of Origin is Back
Funny you say that 'Macca', I totally agree. It's a friendly. Could you imagine the NRL putting these restrictions on??? Whateley this morning was still talking it the whole thing up...saying how the players were all in etc... ...flogging a dead horse I reckon.
