It's not about begging at all, if the AFL are serious about a PP then we will get one. I believe we will get the PP, it won't be end of first round as there's not much benefit in that. At worst it will be the pick before our first pick, pick 2 or at best we will get pick 1. They would be p...ing the coin away if they don't give us on field assistance.
-
No but we will get a priority pick.
-
Thanks 'mitch', good to know.
-
Have you seen him play? If you haven't I guess you wouldn't know if we could pass.
-
Danger had little effect on the game, McKenzie did a pretty good job on him. Yeah, he doesn't get a lot of his own ball and will have to if he is to be of full value to the side, this is why Crowley is so good. He hurts going the other way...but McKenzie was one of our few players that did his job on Saturday.

I'm talking purely kicking and it was Dangerfield that said he had the problem and worked on it. The knock on Crouch has been his kicking and in the games I've seen he's hit his targets pretty well, what he really brings is a thirst for the contest and he reads the play at stoppages really well.

Bombers scandal: charged, <redacted> and <infracted>

They can appeal the decision if they think it is too light. The link is what happened with the VFL player Matt Clark. http://www.afl.com.au/news/2013-07-04/banned-vfl-player-on-road-back -

It's well written by Rita but nothing new, it's actually the facts of the situation. If only the so called footy journos just looked at what was instead of the smoke and mirrors. Too many have been willing to cut the players slack on this and I still don't believe that the AFLPA or the player managers knew nothing about what was going on, surely one player out of 40+ said something. There are many hiding behind their own BS here. -
I don't think we'll drop him for this weeks game. 1/09/2013 v Bulldogs

Our Midfield: an optimist's short story....
rjay replied to PartyTimeJohnny's topic in Melbourne Demons
Aish is more than just class, he's a very, very good footballer. It's going to depend a lot on what picks we get but if we don't get pick one, Boyd but have the chance on Aish I would take him. Good inside and out, great disposal and awareness under pressure. If you want mongrel then that is hands down Couch, the kid would kill you if you were betwee him and the ball. Check out the interview with the brothers, interesting story around the 3 minute mark and 4.30, tough kids. -
Our Midfield: an optimist's short story....

As you say 'Al', you didn't watch the game. 7 of Dangerfields kicks were frees thanks to Ablett. He was fairly ineffective for the game and I think Jordie was one of our few break evens to winners for the day. He didn't give Danger a clear run at it to use his break away pace. -
He wasn't under a lot of pressure when he kicked and that's what was dumb, he should have gone on his natural foot. It's not just Lyden but is a signature of a lot of our players, they don't do the professional things consistently to be good players in a good team. He's been the least of our problems though and has put in a lot more than many others in the team it's just the little things that matter. It's not just our poor midfield, it's all over the ground. Bring in a couple of good mids and this sort of stuff doesn't change unless the mindset of the group does. For all the Neeld mantra we still have a team of semi professionals playing in a professional competition.

The standard of commentary across the board is pretty poor at the moment. Taylor last night was abysmal, he continues to call the wrong players and has no understanding of what is happening on the ground. The 7 team has become a joke and Fox is not a lot better.

mmm...how come I get ads for golf lessons when I've never played a game in my life and am not the slightest bit interested. Couldn't care less who won a major or a minor and don't own or search for a golf stick. Maybe they think I should be honing a non existent golf game instead of worrying about the MFC. I'm with Mark Twain, "Golf is a good walk spoiled".

My take is he is telling the AFL where the list is at, nothing more, nothing less.

Carlton are not very good, are they? ...and anyone who thought Mitch Robinson would be a good get, I hope you watched the game tonight. Lucky to be a 'C' grader, makes so many mistakes and dumb decisions I guess he would be right at home with us. A card carrying 'Dumb Footballer'. -

Told us what we already knew, huge story.Just another thing Taylor got wrong tonight, his lack of understanding of what is happening on the ground is amazing. -
If we get a PP and it's not pick one I would think Aish and Couch would be a good match.
-
Can't get on the ground enough, has been a great player and I hope he can go out on top this year.

6 months is it. If they give up strong info that leads to a conviction then they can get 2 years reduced to 6 months. -
I will join you in the hunting party. The only reason he gets a gig is because he looks and sounds a bit like Dennis, maybe some nepotism at 7. As for Harley, he just doesn't do his homework. This is not unusual with a lot of commentators though. His call on Howe having a good season was way off the mark. You are spot on with Col, he's never been a mid. He doesn't have enough awareness or football smarts and as you say his hands are not clean. Crouch is a Joel Selwood type, really strong at the ball and any player that gets in his way. His brother is the same and it's why we should have a good look at him.

Thought it was funny how Basil kept calling McKenzie Dunn. One of them has red hair DH and it's not Dunn.
-
6. McKenzie, thought he held Danger pretty well despite him getting 7 free kicks didn't have a big impact. Honourable mentions to Garland & Toumpas.
-
Correct...and one was because Dunn decided to switch the ball using his left foot. Really dumb, this is what I keep telling some who keep talking about players not kicking on non preferred. You don't use it, you always go to your preferred foot. Unless it is a get our of trouble kick, you don't make the play with it, not playing the %'s.
-
We don't need to trade good picks and cash for pensioners. By the way I don't think it's the tank that's the problem, it's above the shoulders. Too many of our players don't know how to work hard enough, to do the gut running required at this level.
