POSTGAME: Rd 08 vs Gold Coast
Not with that dropped mark he's not, it was an absolute soda. Harmes put it right down his throat, no defender on him & Tommy dropped it like a hot spud. Lucky he got a boot to it. When/if Tommy starts holding his grabs he will start to show some form.

Changes vs West Coast
Been calling for this one for a few weeks but time to try Sparrow back... Doesn't get enough ball for a mid but has attributes that might be better suited back. With Jetta, Lewis & Hibberd out nows the time to try it.

Round 8 Non MFC Matches
Did anyone hear Rampe's call when caught holding the ball. The ump reckons he called play on 3 times, Rampe said he couldn't here his little girls voice...

Jordan Lewis is absolutely cooked, never pick him again
I don't see it as our only problem but it is a problem none the less. Would rather put development time into Sparrow now as he could be the longer term replacement for Jetta. Just don't see the point in Lewis any more...

Jordan Lewis is absolutely cooked, never pick him again
I would keep the current lineup but with Sparrow in for Lewis... As for Frost, well....he's been ok and his pace can be an asset. Keep the game simple for him but as soon as he goes away from simple we are in a world of trouble. Who knows, maybe he can become a footballer. Stanley seems to have done it at Geelong and that's something I can say I never saw coming. ...but for now if it was a toss up between him and Oscar then it's Frost.

Demons Grand Plan for Yarra Park Training HQ
I think the poster meant the rail yards between the 'G' and the tennis centre. I don't think Andrews has an opinion on this let alone being against it...

Runner up last year in their B&F... Came to Hawthorn as a small forward. Sometimes you need to look at what the player brings. I think if Sparrow is going to make it, it will be as a defender...

Changes v Gold Coast Suns
One more than Viney...

Jordan Lewis is absolutely cooked, never pick him again
I would replace him with Sparrow. I think he is more suited as a small/medium defender than midfielder. He doesn't find the ball enough as a mid but has a lot of good attributes we need in defence. I see him being similar to Hardwick at the Hawks. The sooner we get game time into him the better.

Changes v Gold Coast Suns
If Viney is replacing ANB I hope it's as a pressure forward. He's been a liability as a midfielder this season...

PREGAME: Rd 08 vs Gold Coast
No, but it should mean that he hasn't earned the right to make the call.

Good luck getting to Casey in half an hour mid week...

Think Seaford and you will know that Casey would be a retrograde step... You could kiss goodby any thoughts of being a destination club.

Demons Grand Plan for Yarra Park Training HQ
Honestly 'old dee', I don't think we are... Certainly that's the media & Demonland narrative but I think we have moved past that. No inside info but I just can't see intelligent people like Bartlett & Pert not working on another plan. Bartlett has alluded to multiple plans in the past. Yarra park might be a strategic play, smoke and mirrors to leverage something else. I think we might be involved here. Again, no inside information. I don't see Collingwood heading back to Vic park though. No money has been allocated or promised there. The money that's been discussed is for the sporting precinct of which we are a part.

Not saying he has 'Daisy'... When I say Pert, I mean the club. He is the face of the club on issues like this. I hope he, Bartlett and the board are working furiously behind the scenes to get some commitments for our future.

I don't know...it's easy to get this funding. Just say you're setting up some kind of gender equality facility and bingo... On a more serious note...we were the leaders in womens football, had the foresight to get the whole thing going and now we seem to be languishing at the bottom of the pack when the money comes. I just hope Pert has something he's holding back on at the moment.

WELCOME TO DEMONLAND - ED LANGDON
Should have been part of the Hogan deal...

The Men in the Guts
A couple of interesting things here. 1. Viney shouldn't be in the guts at the expense of Gus...he's not in the best combination. 2. I think 6-6-6 has seen more opposition teams going the chaos kick off the ground at centre bounces. Previously we had numbers coming off the back of the square and you couldn't risk it. It's had an effect on our guys who prefer to get hands on the ball, maybe they will be better off trying similar tactics.

No, as Clarkson says the Hawks are not so great...our 2 wins are against average opposition. ...and we've looked pretty average to date.

Goody Presser (8/5)
Jack has a poor record of judging when fit to play. By his own admission he returned early from his foot injury in 2017 and has had long periods on the sidelines and/or managed game time since. His game time was managed in games early in the season. Ditto vs Hawks - he played about 2 of the first 3 qtrs (prior to the shoulder injury). This suggests something other than the shoulder injury is causing the managed game times. Have someone else make the decision! When I heard this (he will make a call, he know's his body well) I almost drove off the road... Jack is the last person to ask. I think the decision needs to be taken out of his hands, he's proven in the past that he is the last person to be given the responsibility. We employ medicos for a reason. Once the player says they are right to play the final decision should always be with them in consultation with the coach.

Look, Tom has a job to do... I'm not a fan of how the media go about things a lot of the time either but he was presented with a story and it has currency because of our form line and May's less than successful start at the club...part of a joining the dots exercise. I probably wouldn't have written the story but I suspect I wouldn't have a job in the media for very long. ...but the dog act was done by the person who took the photo and sent it on to the media. It wasn't their business and May wasn't hurting them in anyway. That's a pretty lousy thing to do I reckon but unfortunately there are a lot of lousy people in this world who can't mind there own business. They mustn't have much going on in their lives or their heads for that matter...

So it's a dog act to do your job???

Steven May - drinking session
It's only a story because of our poor start to the year. If we were sitting comfortably in the 8 it would have barely had a mention. The microscope is on the club with the media and supporters looking for reasons/excuses for the slide...
- Ablett wins appeal. System is broken

From what I see a lot of older people (around my age) have a problem hiding issues with the booze. Self medication is not age specific. You're right, it never works.
