Watching Us against WC earlier this year this is what stuck out to me . It wasn't the frees they were getting, it was the blatent frees we didn't get that really [censored] me off. Nik Nat for eg seems to have a licence to do what the hell he pleases over there. He was holding the ball for a couple of revolutions in the tackle, pushing in the back , tackling high and no sooner had it happened , when we did the same thing the ump couldn't get on his whistle fast enough. That game was a shocker for the lop sided free count tho'. Something like 24 to 3 at one stage.

OUT- Smith In - Yze I remember reading an article during the Daniher era with the headline The Bagmen. We had the most forwards in the league who had kicked 5 or more goals in a game.

And the deluded Brad Scott has described the last couple of beltings as aberrations. No pal , thats a trend.

As ugly as it is thats exactly what we are doing, learning to play hard contested finals footy. As for the scoreboard, I feel we learnt alot saturday night(well I did). When the game was to be won, at it's hottest in the last, we were all over them. Composure infront of goals will come.

Lets not forget his courage when smashing in the face of Hawthorn 3rd gamer Thurgood with his fibreglass 'arm guard'. Not sure the kid ever played again.

The players are obviously idiots with no pride. They get humiliated on prime time national TV and they wanna have a casual chin wag and cuddle with those who just humiliated them. I know I wouldn't hang around with blokes that just spent the previous 2hrs making me look stupid. Doesn't seem to bother our boys much tho' eh.

My 1st reaction to reading this was to LOL. Now I'm thinking I'll have to watch the Mighty Ducks 3 .

I pray our 1st win comes before the GWS game. A win before then could really boost confidence and send us on our way. Taking down GWS for our 1st would be a very hollow victory IMO.

FWIW I've got young kids and am doing my best to instil a love for the red&blue and it players . I've taken them over to the race after a couple of games to get a closer look at their idols and some of the abuse the players cop is not acceptable. I realise many are frustrated but please , keep it in perspective. God knows what the kids are thinking . P.s. There isn't club out there that their supporters don't turn on their own when they're getting done. That was one of the joys of footy for me when we had a decent side , listening to the opposition fans turn on their own players.

Good post. Before they got their act together they were viewed somewhat like us during the Daniher years . Had the cattle and could play some great football but were mentally weak. I think the years before they had the Swans on toast in a prelim before getting run over and beaten very late in the game. From what I understand after the rd5 loss Thompson walked into the rooms after the game knowing that he was about to front the post game media. He asked the players what they wanted him to tell them after such an inept performance. Not sure but I think Chapman may've even fronted the media with him but from then on the players after a bake from Chapman, to a man made sure they were going to give it everything , every week on the field . The rest is history.

Really , that what we got in 2010 . We were happy that we saw our side heading in the right direction . Last year was a disgrace . This year I want more than 2010 .

Have joined Barrassi league as I was averaging close to 2200 last year . Let me know if this is a problem .
