Loving this as I've been harping about thae lack of shepparding and bumping of opposition players once the ball has been dished of for a few years. Often the ball would be dished off and our player would watch on as the opposition chaser ran past him to complete the tackle on the reciever. Great reports all.

We should've been ready for the thuggish onslaught but weren't. They had physically beaten us up since the 80's and we looked totally surprised they were doing it to us again in a GF . Essendon got done in the previous years prelim in an upset by Carlton , there was no way they weren't going to do averything in order to get the win against us . For us not to be ready for it was digraceful coaching . What I really didn't like about the Long incident was the game was well and truly over by then and of course , no reprocussion.

Nup , pick a different player. Thompson had serious mongrel from the moment he walked onto the field . Haven't seen the same aggression from Beams . Lacks his size aswell .

I think you'll find that each of those years and after those games we had assured ourselves of a finals spot . Once we got to this position we got lazy and took the foot off the pedal . I remember 1 year (possibly 2004) we were needing to beat bottom side Carlton at Edihad to get top4 late in the season . We lost to them for the second time that year . The only player Carlton had was Fev who kicked 5 . Can't remember leaving a game more disgusted .

Not sure what infuriates me more . The fact that the fat controller treats us all like idiots or the thought that McChins Maguire has done a deal with Grubby Allen to make Collingwood players exempt from being approached by GWS . Reminds me of Sheedys promise to Hird that Essenedon players wouldn't be targeted either .
