Tom McDonald needs to take a good hard look at himself.
Bossdog replied to dazzledavey36's topic in Melbourne Demons
I hadn't watched the game before I read this thread......So when I finally sat down to watch it I was expecting to see McDonald completely stuff up and hardly get a touch. What I saw was a very scrappy game in windy conditions. I also saw a lot of clangers from some of our more skilled players. I saw McDonald get nine possessions in the first quarter some were pretty bad turnovers some were to our teams advantage.....I saw some great intercept marks and saw him beat his opponents pretty much every time. It lead me to a conclusion.......There will always be people out there who love to jump on players, there will always be whipping boys that for some reason people want to put down at every turn. There were 3 or 4 times that his kicks hit the leading player but no one mentions those Every player on our list, has to, and needs to improve. Not just Tom McDonald. -

And there are those that love to bag players endlessly.........Must make them feel somewhat superior -
It's funny how we all differ.........I loved that logo......Much better than the plain and boring one we have now.

I have several billers that charge me for them sending me a bill. The gas Co......Charge me 2.50 for them to send me the bill. I refuse to pay by direct debit. If they want to charge me for the gas I use, fair enough.....But I shouldn't be charged for them sending me the bill.

Give it a rest BA.....We all know how you feel about Grimes........No need to bring him up in every thread.

Geezze....... Steve you can cut the dramatics.......I just put up his stats for last year to prove that he is a very good footballer when even 1 poster wanted to swap him for Hooker was it? He is still young and has a lot of improvement in him. He is no saint and like every footballer in the AFL, he makes mistakes. But he also gets a lot of the ball and is very important to our back line. Sarcasm is sometimes the lowest form of wit

You can't just hate a player because we didn't pick him..........Parish had a very good debut and looks comfortable playing alongside men. -
Gee......This McDonald bloke.......Was he the same bloke people were raving about after his 1st half of the season when he beat some of the great full forwards of the comp. The same bloke that was pencilled in for the AA side?.....The 24 year old who has played 82 games was in season 2015: 4th in disposals 3rd in kicks 1st for marks taken 5th in contested possessions 4th in uncontested possessions 1st in intercept marks 3rd in the Best and fairest. The reason he looks undecided is he had no one to kick to when he went for those runs, there was no spread. Yep he got towelled up a few times but so did a lot of our players. Some posters just baffle me.

Wow.....You can tell this after one practise game in Feb.....Outstanding.

N/A was Tipungwuti What a great name......Young Aboriginal player -
I really had to laugh out loud at Demonland.....In the first half there were calls that nothing had changed, we are so crap AGAIN, half the side should be sacked. Our drafting was crap. Players were harshly criticised for making a few mistakes in the first semi serious hit out of the year. THEN.....In the second half we all of a sudden become a finals side.......Players, all 26 of them will be playing in the first game......Players became champions and we are finals bound. Seriously It was the first practise game in a very long year.......I loved the win and enjoyed the hardness of our team but I wonder if we can stop calling for players heads even if they make a few mistakes. Case 1 Ben Kennedy.......Hardly sighted in the first half.........Posters saying "Boy did we lose out in that trade"...........Played quite well in second half ......"Picked the right trade there" I was going to list a few more examples but you get the drift. How about we give all the players a chance to get into the playing side of things and give them all a go. before stating they will be duds o r champs.

I'm afraid I have to put my hand up here.........I'd rather eat a sour lemon.

Understand that dc..... was just saying that people will do it wether it is legal or not......If it's not, there is no control at all. As I said Sue....Don't know much about the gaming industry

I don't know much about the betting scene Sue........If you tell people they can't do something legally they will do it illegally with no restraints. During prohibition in the USA there was more grog sold on the black market and at speakeaseys than there was when it was legal. More corruption backhanders involving all government officials, police etc. Once the law was repealed the government could somewhat restore law and order and taxes they were missing out on.

With all due respect "Sir" If there was no legal betting on these matches, it would just force the betting underground and make it more vunerable to so called match fixing. If it's legal authorities can vet betting trends and pick out abnormalities. I have never punted and don't wish to start so I don't care one way or another. If you are stupid enough to throw your hard earned away so be it

I used to love going to the Grand final, watching the U19's reserves and then waiting for the main game to start. It was an atmosphere that you couldn't beat. The AFL want to copy the American Football, but don't realise that their game is so boring that they need to sign huge acts to provide entertainment. We have a game that IS the entertainment......If I want to go to a rock concert I will buy tickets to that concert. I don't need loud music, fancy dancing girls, Some ground announcer telling me when to cheer. It is just fluff. As soon as the AFL produce it's OWN brand the better off the supporters will be

I think it is a toss up between security and potential .....Sign now for 5 years and if you do a knee or other injury or lack of fitness or form you still get your money If you have the same injuries or lack of form in the last year of your contract your value will drop. Just thinking out loud.

I hate potting players of any side but.....Jimmy seems to me like a little lap dog , always sniffing around the out side. I don't think he ever had the confidence to just play the game. Sort of had an inferiority complex even at MFC. I wish him the best but I don't think he can change his personality.
-
So that makes eight changes from the team that beat them in the last round..........I didn't count GWS's changes
-
Modra was a stay at home full forward and played in an era where players played in set positions.....Howe played a lot in the back line and on a wing as well as forward Bit unkind to compare
-
Just goes to show how differently two supporters see the same game. I don't think he was as bad as you say. Most in our team were not great at the above
