You're talking about Neanderthals who mostly have no idea of the facts or issues. If you want a definition of groupthink, it's all there.

The intraclub's on the 15th February. -
I've been over there for a look and I reckon it wouldn't take many Demonlanders to join up and the average IQ would double or even triple!

I suspect that whatever happens, it will all be done for show and the end result won't be too embarrassing for either the AFL or the MFC. With the ramifications of the Essendon situation up in the air, the AFL won't be all that keen on the tanking issue growing legs. It wouldn't take much - a disgruntled ex-player or official from another club and the sport will be immersed in scandal for the whole season and perhaps beyond.

Melbourne Demons respond to tanking allegations The AFL report has grown an extra 200 pages from 800 to 1,000.

Gilbee? Must have been drinking gin and tonics.

Jim Stynes now being dragged into Tanking Issue!
The Third Eye replied to Demon Stalwart's topic in Melbourne Demons
It follows that you think the previous board were fools because Paul Gardner says we didn't tank when he was around. -
Well I'll be gawn!

I understand that a certain ultra high priced Essendon recruit who they are pinning their hopes on, fell out of favour with his former coach because he refused to tag an opponent one day. Flat out refused. That is a formula for failure if there ever was one.

Brett Lovett was recruited from Hawthorn.

The rule hasn't changed since the start of the inquisition.

Could someone please define "flaming" for me? I believe that it's supposed to be banned on this site.

It's not look what other clubs are doing that's the problem. It's what the AFL said was in order and what all clubs including Melbourne did that's at the heart of the matter. At that point you're entitled to ask questions of the sort Sue is asking.

Don't be deterred by the naysayers. Keep up the good work for the cause lads!

Have the two new rookies been given their numbers yet?

Let's get this thread back on the right track and start from where it began: The promo for Episode 24 of On The Couch read like this: .When they were discussing Melbourne, it was Roos who used the words, "the worst thing you could say about Melbourne is that they're an irrelevant team". The entire discussion was a set up. Brock McLean was led right into the middle of the controversy by Sheahan. How is it that the panelists looked surprised in view of the contents of the promo? If if was a set up, who put them up to it and why? Who has been feeding stories to the media and why? What's their agenda?

2012 Player Review - # 45 Kelvin Lawrence (R)
The Third Eye replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
Fitting profile to have on a day like today when we farewell a few others considered to be generally of little or no value. Lawrence was a lowly rookie draft pick but he was a waste of time and space from the very beginning. Homesick. Low rate of effort and went back home before the year was out. Let's hope that we draft better in future.- 4 replies

The Free Agency/Trade/Draft Rumour File
The Third Eye replied to Whispering_Jack's topic in Melbourne Demons
I can understand the club pushing for Goldsack because of his attributes which would be very much in line with Mark Neeld's wants as a coach. It would be perfect for Goldy as a player to be at a club where he knows he's going to get a regular game. I am hearing that Wellingham is set to go back home but if he gets a good enough offer might be tempted to either remain at Collingwood or come to a club like us. I understand we could come up with a better financial deal but, as we keep getting reminded, if your name ain't Scully, money ain't everything in footy (mind you if you've been offered the GNP of half a dozen third world countries, you would consider it) -
The once only Nudge/Chili rumor round up
The Third Eye replied to Tolstoys Nudge's topic in Melbourne Demons
But you won't be trading anyone these days without them undergoing a medical first. In fact, nowadays in line with leading edge standards of corporate governance, you require a police check, psyche test, credit history through Dunn & Bradstreet and three personal references (including one from the player's nanny) and a clearance from ASIO and DFAT. If he passes and a trade can be organised, I'd take him irrespective of whether he can play footy. -
