OD. I wish I had your patience. It has been 52 years since I attended a Melbourne premiership winning game. Now that I can see light at the end of a long tunnel. I want results now. Don't tell me we need to improve the list. We have a midfield that can operate up there with the best. I think our defence is our Achilles heel. Dont tell me he Diamond Defence is the answer. I hear so much about Netball and Hockey using a similar defence plan Have a look at the size of the field they play on and amount of players. Those sports don't relate to Aussie Rules. If we are going to persevere with the Diamond we need a whole new backline that can think on their feet. Our backline is a bunch of robots that can only think one plan at a time. T McD Dunny and Garland experienced as they are, do not understand the modern game.

As I have said in other posts. Max can not be expected to do it on his own. Pencil is required especially against teams that have a couple of reasonable rucks. St. Kilda showed us what can happen. The doggies also showed us what can happen. admittedly we didn't have pencil on the park to help him out. I would like to think Gawny would dominate this week with one hand tied behind his back. But he following week we play PA in Alice. Why not give Jake a Guernsey for that game. We must try the setup to see if can work.

So how do we beat a better team? If you haven't a game plan to beat better teams what is the use of playing.

No nut bean. That wasn't the only thing I took out of it. What I took out of that game was we are one dimensional in the midfield. We rely too much on Maxy dominating. If Maxy is having a down day we don't have a plan B to counteract the superior midfield. It then puts pressure on the backline which also doesn't have a plan B. If max went down in a screaming heap, what would the club do then.? Could see some huge beltings.

I would never drop Gawny, but he does need a bit of assistance. Game 1 against Mummy he didn't dominate and we fell in. Game 2 dominated but midfielders were down. Game 3. Killed Goldy in the centre but Goldy made up for it with 5 goals. Game 4.
