  1. The club has changed the game plan from Ultra Offensive to Ultra Defensive. That can work until they show signs of tiring then the Hawks & Tigers run all over you. They have done the Defensive part, but now don't do the offensive part. When in the last fortnight have you seen them switch play. They play down the line all the time. They scored last night when they clearly won the centre clearance and got the ball forward quickly. Nothing at all to do with on field leadership. It's the off field leadership that is the problem. Arguments going on with Brendan McCartney, now with Jack Viney. When this starts it festers.
  2. Totally agree. I saw the numbers from whately. What a [censored], it means nothing unless he has all other clubs to compare with.
  3. When we had the ball at half back. We looked upfield and our midfielders were tagged. No one free to run into space. The result was to kick to a marked man, who would drop a mark. The hawks then grabbed the ball and had choices in the corridor all on their own. It was basic football 101
  4. If Hogan is going to spend so much time up the ground We need a tall marking target. Weideman and Pedo to come in. Hunt to come in. The backline looked slow. Tyson also to come in Now who to drop. Melksham, Harmes, Frost and as much as I hate saying it. Whilst Hogan is playing up the ground Garlett is lost 5 disposals 2 kicks 3 HB
  5. you must be really old. I was sitting over on the railway side with 2 rows of terraced seating. When Biff crunched him at the Grandstand end. you know I never even remember if it made any difference to the score.?
  6. We looked too small up fwd. on Sat. Going by form in the VFL today. Pedo or Weideman should get a run. Harmes would have to make way. Melksham may go and Hannan may be the replacement. I would love to see Brayshaw in, but I can't see 3 changes. 2 is bad enough
  7. Brayshaw in : Harmes : out Hannan in : Bugg out Frost in : Lewis out
  8. Decent queues at the various membership Marquees, so that should give a boost this week. SATY was there handing out scarfs to eligible members. Well done Saty!
  9. Tyson and Brayshaw are must haves. Maynard, Wagner, out Hannan, Garlett, Lewis are on shakey ground.
  10. Geez Beetle you didn't think I was serious! The quote came from the MFC when announcing the side.
  11. Four players from Melbourne’s most recent match for premiership points – its round 23 loss to Collingwood last year – are missing from its season-opener. They are Tom McDonald (foot), Jack Watts (now at Port Adelaide), Brayshaw and Tyson, who are both emergencies. I didn't see that round 23 loss. So I couldn't tell you who was good who was bad Could it be that JW was sent packing because of his lack of effort in that game.? Brayshaw and Tyson may have been dropped for the next game based on their efforts.? Tommy is injured.! Have they had a delayed reaction if we had made the finals "They may not have played"
  12. T.McD by a long way. Jack Viney although very good is one of a dozen or so, rotating through the midfield. Tommy as shown can play KPF, KPB, Ruck. Probably now the most versatile big Man at the club
  13. I think you nailed the Melbourne Rd. 1 22. No such things as fixed positions for Melbourne side. Every player will play 2-3 positions throughout a match. Now that is what I call versatility.
  14. other I found it hard to pick a complete standout. It was probably the best team effort I have seen for many a year 12 individual goal kickers says a lot. I haven't seen the stats, but it must have been the closest bunch of numbers for a melb. team.
  15. if that little fairy tap was worth $2500 reduced to $1500 What should Dusty get with all his don't argues?
  16. That maybe the way they will head small.......AFLzzzzzzzz
  17. I haven't been to one training session this preseason. I watched the women slaughter the Crows, I am now getting my hunger back. In the past preseasons I used to be exhausted by the time the season started. Now I will be fresh and ready to go the full season. I will have a run next week at the AFLX. A good showing on Friday night should tune me up just right. Go No. 5? Can't think of his name???LOL
  18. They have been playing well together for years with Darebin Falcons It is amazing what a good win does. It shuts up the whingers
  19. Just want PJ to come on D'Land and say what a disappointing bunch of supporters? we have on D'Land and PI55 off all you whingeing heads.
  20. Petracca and Hogan will rotate through the centre. We will beat the Roos T.Mac will be rewarded as the most accurate FF for 10 years. ANB will be an amazing High HF. his stamina will kill them. Clarry will dominate at the clearances We will make the finals.
  21. Belated Merry Xmas to all. But all have a Happy , Healthy and Safe New Year.
  22. No ads for Bush lawyers please we are overrun with them. Amazing you can read 10 pages and only read half a dozen posts. They all say the same thing.
  23. The club board has been fantastic. They haven't leaked any information to the media or any ferals on D'land that doesn't concern them. Not like the previous boards we had where each director was competing against each other for points. I'd prefer the saying No News is good news, than the Carp we get here. 99% is BS
