  1. I was thinking of starting a fictional news grabs from the future type of thread but I couldn't be bothered.
  2. But at least the typical threads are relevant. Ex players are as irrelevant here as salad is to a phil scully diet. Anyway for the sake of the op and my boredom I think Rivers will probably thrive, I hope none of them do though. They are the enemy now.
  3. And how is a thread on ex players any more insightful than those topics you claim to be bored of?
  4. I have mixed feelings towards Rivers. I understand why he wanted to leave, but think he's a bloody idiot for doing it during this Neeld rebuild. Good luck to him but it would be bloody brill to finish above the [censored] next year and rub ol Rivers' face in it!
  5. I forgot we drafted Hogan bloody beauty!
  6. Which raises the question- do we sue for defamation? No- we go some way to re-enforcing the perception that we are the push-overs and the media's "whipping boy" Yes- we make a massive statement- "come at this club with propaganda designed to destabilize us or kill us and you will not only look to be a fool, you will also be taken to court and probed by the long, thick arm of the law," or someone else can word the statement. We sue and make them think twice about trying to come at us. Are there any real world problems with this post?
  7. Reality Bus, Beer Train- all we need is a Chocolate River and a weirdo in a top hat to complete the scenario am I right?
  8. Sorry for your loss- sounds like a good person and the world needs more of that. On the drinking, I agree players have the right to let their hair down, but they must take caution when in the public eye. Rightly or wrongly players are seen as role models, and the precious society we live in these days frowns upon any fun where alcohol is involved. Side note- love how Rivers and Petterd were present yet Geelong and Richmond escape scrutiny. It's always about the Dees. All eyes on us. North would kill for the exposure we get. Currently devising chicken-gate 2- the mighty rooster returns..
  9. I sense a new whipping boy coming up, which is a little peculiar seeing as Trengove isn't a ginger-nut, doesn't have a porn-star style mo, or isn't challenging a stick of celery for the lowest BMI. Youngest captain in MFC history- obviously was playing under duress last year, which may have contributed to his current injury, loyal as a dog and has never put a foot wrong off field, loves our club and has declared his intent to right this wrong ship yet still some of you have a dig. Heres a suggestion- go watch some of his junior tapes, recognize that last year was a hiccup- breath- and give the kid a break FFS
  10. sweet deal
  11. Telling a Demon supporter not to worry is like telling Phil not to eat- both a good idea for our health yet both very unlikely.
  12. No more than a player pricing other clubs out of contention ala Ball I would have thought. Maybe I'll wait for a clear definition of draft tampering. I wonder what Caro thinks, no doubt she'll catch wind of this. Probably a good idea to take the comment down?
  13. I don't read other forums, so if someone with 3 posts comes in out of the blue saying they heard a "rumor" that we are going down as a result of this unjust witch-hunt I will voice my cynicism. I scoff at rumors at the best of times, let alone one so bold- from a poster who I presumed had just signed up to stir the pot (rather huge 3rd post no?) Doesn't make me or anyone else who questioned the legitimacy of the one line OP a "clown"
  14. Well deegirl says we're stuffed so I know I'm shaking in my boots.
  15. <====== this guy right here (Viney) But am also looking forward to what the senior recruits like Dawes, Rodan and Byrnes bring to the mix, am looking forward to seeing how Watts and Trengove go- the "could be's" in Tynan and Taggert- looking forward to seeing who will lock down that small defender role- how our new recruits in Terlich and Kent fair. Also looking forward to see how our new forward line functions with Dawes and Pedo coming in. Hoping Clark gets back to his best and another mid steps up ala Jones. Does that fit the criteria of this thread Stuie? Just checking
  16. I would have also thought we'd be behind GC in midfield.
  17. I have a lot of time for this bloke as he always gives 100%, but must agree- if he can't improve his kicking he will be overtaken by Viney and possibly a few others. Needs to work on his kicking and if he can get it right with Viney we have that one two punch we need coming out of the midfield.
  18. No, me and the "old guy" know that we didn't break any rules. We are as enlightened as you are on the whole topic, but the old guy and I are a little less preachy and arrogant when we discuss it.
  19. I said after 3 years he became a plodder. Difference is everything was fine and on par with expected development path, then the season from hell where he looked injured, but apparently wasn't, even though it looked like he was running in concrete out there- he never got a rest... time trials, grueling pre seasons, weight work.... where else did he get the fracture from Einstein? Anything under enough stress for a long enough time breaks. He didn't injure it in a collision incident, it is a result of stress over a long period of time. That's player mismanagement.
  20. The Not so True Dees. Has a ring to it. At last, a place where us dee fans can go to openly revel in our disgusting onfield performances and worship our bronzed statue of Jordan McMahon.
  21. I gag enough at the footy already..
  22. More test flying around in here than backstage at a Mr Olympia contest. Test.
  23. I think we tanked- should I stop supporting my dees too Vincey?
  24. I was saying his injured foot is very likely a result from having so much game time under duress without being monitored properly- what is your point? He came third in a time trial? Good effort- still has a fractured foot though doesn't he?
  25. LOL! Made my night. Way funnier if read in a camp voice. Just out of interest, what is your second favourite kind of tough guy?
