  1. Next you will be telling me that a different coach could have made a difference to this rabel of a club.
  2. BREAKING..... Mark Neeld questioned over JFK assisination & Moonlanding cover up.
  3. With Clark, Dawes and Hogan in the Fwd line. and Frawley (assuming he stays), Mcdonald, Garland in the Backs I would trade Watts for what could potentially could be a first round pick. We could than go to the draft with three first round picks, our first rounder, potential priority pick and pick for Watts. 3 more gun mids to go with Jones, Grimes,Trengove, Viney, Toump and the potential of Kent, Taggart, Barry Could be a win win and the begining of the midfeild we are so deperatly lacking.
  4. I've been thinking this since the Hogan/Barry deal got done. Hope it is the case.....also hope there is no paper trail.
  5. I would keep Barty in. Love the guy, don't let him be lost to the club. Can you retire and remain in the leadership group? Bugger it make him captain. Sorry, just gunna miss my mate Barty. Dawes seems to really want it, he will earn their respect at the training camp and I would expect he will be in. Love that by circumstance Neeld has created a successful culture before we have won a 2013 game!
  6. I have picked this side simlpy on the players that we have already got on the list, however I have added Wines as i believe he can have an instant impact. Still a very young side. Green = Young Blue = Mid age Red = Old B: Garland Frawley Nicholson HB: Watts McDonald Dunn C: Sylvia Viney Grimes HF: Howe Dawes Trengove F: Blease Clark Byrnes R: Jamar Jones McKenzie I: Wines Pederson Tapscott Sub: Rodan Em: Gawn Davey Jetta Bail Looking at this i think we have great flexability in our talls, Pederson can play forward/back/ruck. Clark and Dawes can both ruck should disaster strike, and we have 3 perminant tall backs in Frawley, McDonald and Watts with Garland and Dunn being able to play on both talls and smalls. I think our mids look deeper and have some real hard-nosed qualities about them. I still believe that we need at least one other mid option to rotate through (total of 8), aside from Jones, Sylvia, Grimes, Trengove, Viney, Wines, McKenzie, one of Howe, Blease and Nicholson, need to keep developing into an out and out mid (prob Blease). On top of these options we have Byrnes and Rodan to add to the rotations. One im unsure about is Tapscott, love him and think he is valuable to the overall side, just cant work out his best possy. i like him as a hit up half forward, the role he played when he got drafted, but could also see, with his kicking him playing a role across half back, think the likes of Guerra/Hunt. Overall a half decent side. Cant wait for pressure to come from Gawn, Strauss, Barry, Jetta, Bail, Taggert, Tynan, Fitzy, and any others we pick up in the draft. Competition for spots is going to be the best thing for the side this year. Looking forward to it.
  7. Anyone who cares enough and bleeds for the jumper. I have been excepting of the "play the kids policy" now I am more than excepting of the new hard line Neeld regime! Best 22.....I would rather the hardest and most committed 22, and nothing less!
  8. Is Dawes worth pick 20...Porobably not Is Dawes worth pick 20 to us...absolutely From the twitter response it seems Pie fans are pleased to reveive pick 20, I can speak for a Dees fan, and I am very pleased to have Dawes, so it is an old fashioned win/win. For those out there who are still concerned about our midfeild, key position players dont peak until they are 24-25, we now have Clarke and Dawes in the perfect age bracket. Mids can have an impact from day dot (if they are elite), we already have, Jones, Grimes, Trengove, Watts (who i now consider a mid in the making), Makenzie, Sylvia, Viney, pick 4 (Wines, probably), Blease, Barry (remains to be seen). What we can do now with our Defence and Forwardline in order, is to focus all our attention on bolstering our mids. The rest of this trade/free agency period, the draft, the pre season draft, the rookie draft, and the the next few seasons drafts will see us in good stead with midfeild stocks. Very pleased.
  9. 26 = Viney. 3/13 = Hogan, Barry, Dawes. With pick 4 still to come. Great result!!!
  10. The last thing we need is more tanking talk!! A winning culture is the ONLY way to teach our young players the value of every game, and to grow the ruthless mentality that we need to climb the ladder.
  11. Seller - no match up for him, also has not played/trained at full intensity for 2/3 weeks (calf i think) Petterd - "Pulled up sore" (Jade Rawlings) would be playing otherwise "is very important" (Jade Rawlings) Bail - Not sure, would have thought he was a strong chance Tapscott - needs another week or two at Casey Gys - needs consistency, will play seniors, but no gifting games. prob best side available, although im suprised by Joel Mac, thought Davis or Tom Mc could have got the gig.
  12. Jade Rawlings says Petterd a bit sore, whatever that means...???
  13. Without this meaning to sound cold, with the 'Big Jim factor' put aside we should just win! We finished higher than them last year, whe SHOULD be much further advanced than them, we managed to snare one of their best in Mitch, and we have finally got the profecional footy department we all wanted. But like alot of you i know to well the dramas we have had in getting seasons off to a winning start. That said we should just win and for some strange reason im confident we will. Go DEES!
  14. FB: Bartram, Sellar, Rivers HB: Grimes, Frawley, Garland C: Blease, Moloney, Jones HF: Green, Watts, Howe, FF: Petterd, Clark, Davey, R: Jamar, Trengove, Magner IC: Martin, Bail, McKenzie, sub Tapscott (as he adds flexability can go fwd/back) Emerg: Bate, Dunn, Tynan
  15. dees best and fairest? Jones dees best 1st year player? Magner goals clark will kick? 49 games jurrah will play? 0 dees surprise of the year? Jones an All Australian premiers? Hawthorn first coach to get sacked? Voss biggest off field controversy? Eddy to admit they made a mistake pushing out MM and to stand down. games won by gws? 0
  16. Words will never be enough to pay tribute to such a man as Jim Stynes but there are a few things that perhaps for selfish reasons i would like to say. Dearest Jim. i only had the pleasure of you company on a handful of occasions, every time I bailed you up at games to chat about my and your beloved Demons you had time, time to listen, time to laugh and sometimes times time to hear my gripes. I walked away from every meeting with you taller and prouder to be part of the exclusive club of which we shared membership the Melbourne Football Club. Jim although you wouldnt have remembered me you somehow made me feel like a friend you had an amazing way to lift others and to make them feel special. Jim Stynes you are one of the kindest most selfless human beings that i have had the pleasure of meeting, and on this sadest of days im sure that more than anything else you would of told everyone to celebrate life. That is what i intend to do, celebrate your life, a life filled with love, kindness, and and selflessness. Jim you did not loose your battle and this is not the end of your jurney as you yourself put it, your memory and the gifts you gave everyone of us will live on through the many you touched. Jim i thank you as a Melbourne supporter a Melbourne Member and most of all as a person. I like countless others are better for have crossed paths with you throughout your time with us. Rest now Jim knowing that you will always be remembered as one of the best.
  17. All the Jack bashing by the media over the past 2 weeks has been a product of the NAB cup and there being not much else to talk about. Jack will be fine, 6 foot 4 key possition player that will take time but when it all clicks like Cam Mooney and Barry Hall said on 360 at arround 23-24 he will tare the comp apart. Jack will be a 15 year player at our club and when we look back on his career we will talk about him as one of the greats.
  18. Please refrain from these kinds of jokes, there is already to much hysteria arround this without you adding to it!
  19. Neeld will decide on the captain. From the outside I think Beamer or JT would be great but I don't know what they are like around the club. I can say I'm really looking forward to a fresh start and an invigorated MFC in 2012.
  20. Anyone who is critical of this appointment can JOG ON. The only people that know what's best for the club have made this decision. Looking forward and doing so with a very positive outlook. Once again JOG ON!!!
  21. Looks like it's true Gary said on MMM it will be announced tomorrow!!
  22. Until I see him at the Melbourne press conference in a red and blue polo ill treat it as a rumour. Would be a good choice though, all great coaches need someone to give them a start. Pendles in 2013, MM as director of football ( tongue in cheek)
