  1. I met Clyde at a GF breakfast about seven years ago. What a guy. Had an hours chat with him. Was still fit and going to see the Deez play regularly. Loves Brasso, very humble and absolutely believed the Deez could dominate the competition once again. A blue-ribbon true believer. Walked away from the chat loving the Deez even more.
  2. It's a trade-off isn't it? Dennis must have been earning a fortune to sit and listen to that moron all day.
  3. Thanks for the PTSD re-trigger Radar.
  4. Is that the one where the commentator repeatedly refers to Fritsch as 'Fritz'?
  5. Happy seven month anniversary everyone.

If we were to go through undefeated, including the granny, it would mark this team as, statistically at least, the greatest of all time. Not bad. Furthermore, it will go a fair way to reclaiming the title of the greatest club in the competition. "The lure of the distant and difficult is deceptive. The greatest opportunity is where you are." John Burroughs. If we just win the next game between now and 24 September 2022, we get there.
  7. Apparently he's a real wa*ker
  8. What would be offered on the following 24 leg multi? Dogs loosing the free lick count, May kicking to the right, Daniher kicking a goal from 15 metres in front, Malthouse behaving like a top bloke, Dermott stringing together three sentences culminating in a comprehendible paragraph, The AFL admitting its ticketing regime is shiiiiite, Selwood not getting a free kicking for ducking next week, Viney squibbing the hard ball, Any AFL footballer not saying at the end of game interview, "we knew they'd come out hard", Eddie saying "we are racist at Colinwood", Brock saying, "I was only pulling your leg", Neeld saying, "I got it wrong", Toby saying "Matt and I are as tight as a Russian bodybuilder's quads", Any AFL footballer not answering a question in the next week beginning with 'yeah/nah', Gary Rohan being best on ground in a final, Goodwin saying "it was an error of judgement to trade with Norf for Jackson and Pickett", Fyfe, Bailey Smith and Natanui getting proper haircuts, Papley buying some shorts that actually fit, Razor Ray not imposing himself on a game in 2022, Gryan Miers changing his name by deed poll, Mitch McGovern saying "here's a $500,000 refund", Tom Hawkins pipped at the post for the 2023 Oscar for Best Actor, The AFL saying, "we got it wrong with the Giants and GCS", and finally, The Deez are no chance in 2002.
  9. The ol' JCV video cassette recorder was out over summer and running overtime. The other 16 clubs watched us dismantle the Dogs last September and have taken the leaf. Apply sustained pressure and they excrete themselves very, very badly. Calab Daniel is the number one offender . . . time and again.
  10. What? Dandenong was a bloody good side back then.
  11. Back in the ol' dayz Poita, we had 3AW, The Truth, The Sun, The Age, The Herald and Inside Football. Now we have literally hundreds of places we can get out footy news. My pace of choice? Demonland. And when I've finished here after two or three hours, I ring the boot-studder for the truth.
  12. The reason I clicked on this thread is because I thought . . . Eddie Betts's thoughts would be worth reading. Instead . . . I've puked all over a perfectly good Apple Mac keyboard.
  13. Pretty easy I would have thought Chook. Both: dive tunnel throw hold leg tantrum sulk obfuscate backchat, and cheat with impunity. Very confusing on many levels My Friend. (BTW . . . are you the Chook formally known as CiP?)
  14. Serious question . . . is there any player at Essendscum that would get a game at Melbourne? And if so, who is the Essendscum player/s and who would they replace at Melbourne? (And Stringer is only an option if you're prepared to throw out the no _ _ _ _ head policy.)
  15. We're only playing Richmond, so it doesn't really matter.
  16. What, regardless of the fact we: invented the game, created the MCG, are the longest, continually registered, professional sporting club on the planet, have won the fourth most premierships in the competition's history, put onto the ground some of the greatest players and coaches in the game's history (including the coach of the 20th century) and have had to play against the umpires as well as the opposition's 18 players, for the last 58 years. It really depends on how one defines dominant really. I love being a Deez supporter. When supporters of the supposedly 'dominant' clubs get stuck into us, I simply suggest they send my a card on Thanks Giving day. Oh, and by the way, in the last 67 years, we have won seven premiership compared to the Flfth's three and Essendrug's five.
  17. Like my fortnightly payslip, looks good on paper but seriously lacks interest.
  18. Was that Sparrow or Harmes (think about it)?
  19. Remind me again . . . how many premierships has Lyon coached?
  20. What, 22 years?
  21. Waffle, ill-informed comment, stereotyping, venomous accusations, misleading statements, bull-baiting and hysterical fictionalism is the glue that binds 'Land together.
  22. I first read that as 'childish club'. I thought to myself . . . Chook, you've nailed it again.
  23. Now I'm worried . . . Kane clueless Cornes.
