  1. lots of competition for that 'award'.
  2. They recruit Kent and get rid of Dunstan. No wonder they don't win premierships.
  3. Vin Catoggio was a legend. Once asked to describe the best goal he ever kicked and he said something like this: The ball came down into the goal square, I flew for the mark but spilt it. I got to my feet, baulked, ducked, wrong footed, sold the dummy and put it through. Only thing, I was the only player in the square at the time.
  4. Someone thinking straight on Demonland.
  5. Anyone who goes to war with Daisy, goes to war with me.
  6. Back in 1979, we did a number on Richmond at the MCG. After the game, supporters and cheer squad members, probably a hundred of us, gathered on the ground at the entrance to the player's race, and sang the following song: Hooray for Richmond, Hooray at last, Hooray for Richmond, For they're the horse's a&%e (rhymes with 'last'). Don't be mistaken, Don't be misled, They're not the horse's a&%e, They're the horse's head. Does anyone remember this or was at the ground that day?
  7. Somebody on here predicted the Deez by 10 goals and the Norm Smith medalist.
  8. I just got off the blower with another D'lander. Synchronistically, we spend quite a bit of time wondering if we could go through 2022 undefeated. It would give us 32 wins on the trot. It's not beyond the realms of possibility.
  9. As I said in the previous post on this topic, as long as a cow bell is present in the song, I'm in.
  10. Is his name down on the MCC waiting list yet?
  11. Was just a little bit worried Bont was going to seriously get hold of us.
  12. Having watched the game a few times now, Frita, with a bit of extra luck, could have kicked eight. Wow wee!
  13. I would be happy playing Jeelong at Kardinia twice next year. Eight easy points against the wooden spooner.
  14. My waiting for fulfilment is over.
  15. I've had to park the Rangy in the carport so I can store all the tapes in the garage.
  16. I met Clyde Laidlaw 10 years ago at a grand final function - he was the guest speaker. He was in his 70's then and was completely wonderful. Not many get to be introduced as "a Melbourne premiership player" and fettered like he was that day. BBB is now 'one of us'. Part of 22 that broke the dam wall. Play his cards right, he'll never have to work another day in his life. And forever, he'll be introduced as a Melbourne premiership player. What's that worth? I'd give my executive washroom up for that.
  17. He's gone home to his parents together with a note from the football club.
  18. "In defence of Dwayne a little the segment was based on Leppitsch saying rucks are the least valuable position on the ground." Wow. . . . just wow. Anyone who saw Farmer, Stephen Michael and Nichols said they were the best footballers in their respective sides by a mile. I've seen Ditterich, Dempsey, Madden, Cox, Stynes and now Gawn. All were brilliant and turned games regularly with their tap work, marking, positioning "in the hole" and goal kicking. Flags are generally not won by sides that do not have an A grade ruck. I could easily argue that outside of Dusty, Big Nank is Richmond's most valuable player.
  19. Sometimes I think I live in a parallel universe where physics are different and sh&t operates in reverse. Jimmy invented this role 35 years ago.
  20. No wonder the Doggies didn't want to go near him.
  21. When Brian Taylor muttered the immortal words, "Welcome to the Seven Network's coverage of the 2021 AFL Grand Final".
  22. Salad dodger Brian Taylor hates us. You could hear the despise in his voice all year. Not sure he's come to terms with the win yet. (Either have I to be fair.)
  23. Deliberate. 50 metres.
