Respectfully disagree Rjay, I'd like to see Clarrie moved forward and Viney used as our tagger, not disagreeing how good a job he did on Cripps, but with our turnovers it provides plenty of options the other way. Until we get our lateral and short range quick ball movement sorted out I'd like to see 2 of Harmes, Brayshaw and Viney in there at all times and rotate Clarrie and Trac through the other mid/forward rotation. Viney isn't going to hurt any side inside forward 50, but I think both Clarrie and Trac do. Magnets and plans B, C &D all need to be in place to make us less predictable in games/quarters to keep opposition second guessing and allow us to change things up a little when we need to shift momentum

David King said we had all the pieces in place, by sorting out our defence. He even continued the theme throughout the season when we were dropping games saying he wasn't worried about the Demons and put it down to the surgeries. Everyone is a hindsight genius

Smith, Hunt, Melksham, AVB, Lockhart Pickett is only playing for forward pressure needs to do the simple things instead of trying to create highlights

Either that or play to your players strengths. I get the Fritsch move to the backline last season out of necessity, but Goody for the sake of his head coaching career needs to stop trying to fit square pegs in round holes. Lever is a zoning off interceptor so play him as one and don't have Max floating back behind every ball as the intercept Harmes has been very damaging through the middle play him there and make Viney your principal tagger. Play Gawn, Harmes, Trac, Brayshaw as your starting centreline. Rotate Clarrie through there whilst also consider sending him forward to play Vanders role. Play forwards who will lead hard up the ground and free up space inside forward 50 to create channels for the others to lead into and if they want to play a loose defender sitting in the hole don't play on hit little 20m passes on the 45 to work into space until someone finds space. It's up to him and the players as a collective to work this out

It's not just 1 issue it's cumulative. The red zone game style is not sustainable for a full 4 quarters. It's high risk and when you turn the ball over it burns you the other way. Composure is certainly something we lack, those breakdowns of our movement are damming and you can't tell me that hasn't been picked up by the FD when reviewing and coding. It's like a hot potato no tempo and control with ball movement, surely we train and invite heat in game simulation to a point where players are accustomed to it. Confidence, composure and trust all appear to be missing

I really rate Lyon, Deanox he gets things done. He may be defensive but he gets the best out of his players. I can't see Clarkson leaving Hawthorn and, whilst the current plight makes an experienced coach a priority we still need to remain open to potential with experienced people in the game, which is why I mentioned Fagan and Beveridge I'm not sure on all the Yze hype outside of the romanticism what else. Working under Clarkson would have its benefits Goodwin has no choice now but to make changes in his plan. He doesn't need to throw the baby out with the bathwater but changes are necessary, if he doesn't unless things miraculously click he will fall on his sword

I coached/watched my eldest boy and his mates play yesterday Old Dee, nothing better than seeing players play the game they love with mates. Boys had a good win, which makes it better although I sat down with a red to watch us v Richmond when I went home. I love watching my youngest play because I have no coaching duties just a father watching his son play I hurt watching our Dees, but I'm over getting frustrated and letting it ruin my weekend or mood. I have my 2 sons footy on Sundays and Ammos started back on the weekend so I have that over a few frothies with good mates every Saturday and the 2 boys on Sunday. Life is good just not the Dees currently

If you want a new coach the entire process needs to be right. Bailey was the last coach selected by us who went through an exhaustive process. Neeld was a recommendation Roos we head hunted Goodwin selected as successor It's now at the crossroads Goodwin either makes changes or falls on his sword. Experience. Lyon: would take no nonsense and does not accept players not running hard both ways. Standards of fitness and playing to game plan/structure must be adhered to Worsfold: Not a coach, he's tactically inept IMO but a fantastic leader and motivator. Put the right people around him Scott: Got the best out of an ordinary list, but does he have the ability to take the next step Voss: would he be better second time around I think so, but how much better First timers There is nothing wrong with selecting a first time coach, but you have to nail the selection and need to have served a long apprenticeship like Fagan, Beveridge and Lyon

That's the big if though AF, we show flashes of really good footy with quick ball movement but it's just not sustainable over 4 quarters. You can't play that manic pace and not turn the ball over Players need to learn to control the tempo we can't go bull at a gate with every clearance, and we certainly need a tall target for quick entries from clearances and the right crumbers when it hits the deck. Tmac up the ground and Weid close to home has to happen. Not just for getting games into Weid but to enable list management decisions I wouldn't tinker to much with the backline, maybe Omac for Smith. Bennell needs to be looked at for his creativity. Thank god junior footy is back, to give me something to put a smile on my face

I actually agree with this, it's been close to clicking and I've seen glimpses a couple of times. The inside 50 conversion rate is still not great but improving as is the delivery (very slowly). We badly need some cohesion with the 22 and it would be good if when we move to the hub we could train together as a large group Having said that whilst I've seen glimpses that doesn't always translate to clicking into gear. Confidence and injury can impact this, so hopefully we get to see some connection into the forward half with everyone on the same page

You're way off and Wrong Fact
