  1. jamar splits the pack and goals!!
  2. Go Dees, Cant wait to see Viney in action
  3. Was really impressed with his first NAB cup game. His ceiling is very high. Lets hope that he builds on this in the coming full length games. I'm excited by 2014
  4. Hi everyone, I have registered for the rookie league under the username syddave Looking forward to it!
  5. My best team would include both Magner and Fitzpatrick. I think that we need some grunt in the centre square and Magners performance in the 3km time trails signals he will go up a gear next season. Fitzgerald will play the ruck/forward role and is my pick for our most improved. Viney will start in the forward pocket with some midfield rotations. Peterson will be our swing man alternating forward or back depending on match ups. Pick 4 will need to earn games before getting a run in the seniors. Backs: Garland, Frawley, T. McDonald Half Back: Strauss, Watts, Nicholson Centre: Grimes, Magner, Trengrove Half Forward: Howe, Dawes, Silvia Forward: Viney, Clark, Fitzpatrick Followers Jamar, Jones, McKenzie Interchange: Peterson, Blease, Byrnes Sub Bail Emergencies: Dunn, MacDonald, Tapscott, Rodan
  6. It will be very interesting to see what happens with Fitzy this year given all of the forwards that we have recruited. In 2012 his game started to come together and he looked reasonable at AFL in his couple of games. Everyone talks about Daniher as a 200 cm forward yet Fitz with his speed could be very damaging at AFL level. I am hoping that with a big pre season that he could be the surprise packet of 2013. However could you have Clark, Dawes, Hogan (2014) & Fitzy in the same forward line?
  7. I must be one of the few that would be disappointed to see Morton go. Morton would be a very good player in a good side so I am hoping that he will click as Melb starts moving back up the ladder
  8. What are your thoughts about trading P4 to GWS for their P12, P14 and Jed Anderson? Would they go for it? Would we? I think after the consensus top 3 you could throw a blanket over the next 10. Therefore I am confident that we could still get some top talent with those picks.
  9. Very excited by Hogan joining the Dees I read earlier that Hogan may stay in WA next year. Can anyone confirm if this is true?
  10. I agree that this does reek of desperation rather than astute recruiting. THe board needs to ensure that this is in the best interest of MFC I just couldnt handle giving Collingwood an advantage and overpaying for two B graders that Collingwood has rejected. This sounds like a fair trade. The only way that I would give pick 4 would be if Collingwood added there 1st round pick as well.
  11. There is no way that we won't take JV. I have always thought it would be pick 3 however I am starting to think that we may get him 2nd round. I just hope that that we don't stuff up the other selections.
  12. He is at the combine as he has been interviewed by GC. Would be great if anyone has any idea how he has tested?
  13. My Ideal scenario would be to trade pick 3 for md 1and on trade md 1 for Gaff. Then use pick 4 for md 2 and GWS's second round pick. That means we get gaff with 2 per seasons, Hogan and another good kid.
  14. Watching the Suns v Carlton half time the Suns are leading 69 v 31. It has been an exciting game and Caddy has had no influence except a lucky goal. His disposal has been awful. I would prefer best available for our pick 13.
  15. Flying overseas next week to get married and mentioned to my fiancé that I was going to buy Jimmys autobiography for the flight. She handed me my early fathers day present which was Jimmys book. Can't wait to read it. Jimmy was an amazing man.
  16. Great news. Jones should win our B&F this year and Howe brings members through the gates. I thought that they were both fantastic today. Really pleased that Howe finally made a set shot!
  17. Hypothetical trading scenario. Melb uses pick 3 for Martin with an understanding that GWS does not nominate JV Melb trades Martin to West Coast for Gaff. We get JV second round Martin gets to stay in WA Melb gets an gun midfielder with a couple of years in the system What do others think?
  18. Gutted. One of my hopes this season was to watch Mitch becoming an elite forward. Hope he has a speedy recovery and is cherry ripe to go for the start of the preseason. We can really use a good break for once.
  19. I cant believe what some people are posting about Morton. He is one of the few that have improved this year. Some of his turnovers are terrible however what were his choices? If our players were running to position he would not need to attempt pin point passes on his left. He will be a very valuable player for us as we improve over the next couple of years.
  20. Pumped for my first live game of the year. Feeling very confident and I also put a small bet on for the dees first win.
  21. Looking forward to watching my first live game for the season. Great to have LJ back. Go the Dees
  22. Just rang and signed up my 4 month son. Nathan Jones took my call and was a really nice guy and spoke for a while about all things Melbourne. Spoke very passionately about where the dees are heading.
  23. Great news - I really would like both Watts and Gys to play the majority of games this year. Who have kicked the goals?
  24. RIP Big Jim You were my hero as I was growing up. I love what he has done for our club and he makes me want to do more. An inspiration. Thankyou for the memories
  25. From Craig Lees twitter @CaseyScorpions lead by 4 goals at the main break. Possession winners Sheahan 15, Gysberts, Viney 10, Collins, Morton 9. Great to see the Dees in the top possession winners.
