Merry Christmas everyone. Thanks for all of the discussion throughout the year especially the training reports over the pre season.

Not sure how sharing insights from the camp makes it a PR exercise. Several years ago I attended a high performance seminar where Mick Malthouse was one of the keynote speakers. At the time Mick was still the Collingwood coach. He spoke a lot of about mindset being the key to unlocking player performance. He shared some of the 'experiences' that he shared with the players on these camps that was really interesting. Some of his approaches where similar to those mentioned in the article. Personally I would love to hear how our new draftees responded and how the team came together at this camp.

It would be great for the club to release more details on this. I wonder if the results from the camp will help shape the leadership group.

Hunt has the tools that many of our players are missing. I am pleased that Hunt is on our main list and I hope he really proves his worth this year. My tip for the biggest improver award -
And Harmes

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - CLAYTON OLIVER

Great result. Looking forward to seeing him playing early. -
Any other training updates?
-
My Tip is Hunt. With his injuries behind him I expect him to have a big pre-season and break into the side round 8. His speed and a goal a game from the wing will see him keep his spot for the rest of the season.
-
Our midfield needs a mid like Parish. If he can bring outside receivers into the game aka Watts we will be a better side. Really torn at 7 as I see a lot of upside with Mckay and Oliver however hoping for weid or Curnow to slip
-
If we go Curnow with pick 3 as a tall. Would we go McKay for needs or Oliver for pick 7?
-
Exactly what I was thinking
-
I'm not sold on him yet so would love to see some footage to get me excited about a small mid.
-
For some stupid reason I have reservations on Parish. Mainly due to the trend of bigger mids and some of the comments on this site. I'm hoping we get both right as these hopefully will be our last top 10 picks for a while. Just pick best avaialble and let's be 100% confident if we select players that have had injury interrupted seasons.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - JOEL SMITH
sydneydee replied to DeeSpencer's topic in Melbourne Demons
I'm really looking forward to the training reports on Smith. Only 3 years out of the system and with great attributes he could quickly come on. Hopefully he is the missing link -
That's a really crap deal for us
-
Against popular belief I hope that Watts stays. He has showed signs of using his speed and skills while playing forward and had some great assists throughout the year. Everyone knows that we need his skills in the team we just need him to get more off it. I would give him one more year and lose his as a FA next year where the compensation is likely to be higher than trading him for a fringe player or late 2nd round draft pick.
-
I will be really disappointed if we don't land Bennell. Howe and some pick swaps lets get it done. We need goal kicking miss to move up the ladder
-
Watching Frawley spud it up brings a smile to my face.
-
It's a yes from me if the price is right. Straight swap for Howe and I would be very happy. Howe and 2nd rounded is prob par.
