  1. Fitzy to Cloke? Cloke's playing sooooooo well. Maybe Dunn?
  2. Cloke BOG so far. Not TMacs fault.
  3. Elliott beaten Jetta twice already
  4. Great if we could preserve an exquisite team balance like we had last Sunday. Love Jetta, but am slightly concerned that if he replaces a forward (Bail or M Jones) and Grimes stays in (who played well as back pocket on the small forward) this will force Grimes to play on a slightly bigger guy and further up the field, which are 2 things Grimes doesn't seem to do as well as playing back pocket on the smallest forward. Therefor we could be weakened because all those other defensive positions seem better played by either Garland, Dunn, TMac, Fitzpatrick, Lamumba, Frost, Salem…. IMHO, for team balance, Grimes and Jetta are or should be, playing for the same spot atm.
  5. Spot on Hardtack! Watched him in defense for Casey recently & loved his play and relaxed confidence. Not looking like the same guy. Improving overhead, kicking & footy smarts, plus how many 200cm players are so fast or good below the knees? He was diving for marks, great game. Love to see more.
  6. Fitzy looking good in defense. Watts lovely pass to Toump. 4 quarters needed
  7. FB: Jetta Frost Dunn HB: Garland T Mac Salem C: VandenBerg Vince Lumumba HF: Kent Pedersen Watts FF: Howe Hogan Garlett FOLL: Jamar N. Jones Tyson Int: Viney, Brayshaw, Cross, Newton Emerg: Gawn, Dawes, Grimes
  8. Out: Spencer, Dawes, M. Jones/Stretch, Salem (inj) In: Jamar/Gawn, Hogan, Watts, Newton
  9. I agree that Watts will, and that's in spite of the ball being kicked to Dawes 3 times more often as it usually seems to be!
  10. Our midfield would be so enhanced had we not recently lost Stef Martin for nothing, which I emphatically posted about just before it happened. Plus Wines of course! Starting on-ballers of Martin, Wines & Jones would cut it against any trio in the league.
  11. I imagine so, and certainly defer to your greater knowledge of the subject Redleg. Bonds video still had me think Col kindly agreed to a deal favoring the club a bit more than expected under the circumstances however [perhaps a bit lower % of next years pay than he could have pushed for].
  12. The AFL interview with Freo's general manager of football operations, Chris Bond, disclosed clearly enough that Col did not force them to pay him out anything like his full contract amount at all. http://www.fremantlefc.com.au/video/2015-04-28/bond-on-sylvia 2.51m Press: "Did you have to honor his original contract?" Bond: " …work through a settlement.. …it's something that's been really favorable to the club, & I think all parties have been really understanding of that.." Clearly Col could have screwed much more money out of them, but didn't. Press: "So it's not just honoring his original contract?" Bond: "No it's not…" A sign of good character. I respect him for that and wish him well. I don't know whether Col had some other health issue causing him to never reach the consistent lofty pinnacle he seemed to have the potential for? I guess he just enjoyed the party more than hard work. [edit added URL]

  14. They probably sell most or all of that stuff. They're running a business, I don't use their gambling machines or drink much, so don't feel they owe me feebies. I always buy a full meal (very good value anyway) and a drink, to contribute to their coffers, but don't feel any pressure from staff to do anything. They're fine, plus it's good to watch the game in a room full of Melbourne supporters.
  15. Yeah, I agree "We Should Smash Richmond!" Annihilate, shellac & embarrass them profusely! Of course they won 9 in a row late last year & we last won 2 in a row.. err almost 3 years ago was it?
  16. Thanks very much Seraph! I realized that & while you were replying to me, I was deleting my post.
  17. Sorry to hear that Stuie. I've been to the Bentleigh club a couple of times. I'm told it was a lawn bowling club before MFC partnered with them, so it's not like a young persons night club, but it's fine, the staff are friendly, food is great value, and they always turn the sound on for Melbourne games.
  18. Were those facts pointed out to the manager in charge, without them having the business sense to turn the sound on for you all? That'd keep me away from watching there.
  19. Hey Tim. Good, I'll still be here, hope to see you then. Are The Sports friends of yours? Having left Oz in '74, unfortunately I missed decades of local music. Watched the 2007 GF in LA with Aussie friends and some Richmond players; Richo, Collins & another. Collins mentioned the Sports a lot & said his uncle, father or someone was in them.
  20. I thought Pederson did better than expected last year too, but Frost is 6 years younger, a little bigger and very fast, so it seems he's considered an upgrade as 2nd ruck, so Peders is suddenly almost forgotten.
  21. Hey Tim Hardtack. Great to meet & watch the GC win! Still in semi-euphoric shock we won a 1st rounder actually! This must be the tune you told me about. I took the advice to "only listen with headphones on and the volume cranked right up to maximise the pain... err, I mean, experience." Hahah, you're too hard on yourself. I liked it, great stuff! Your vocal intonation's fine and everything. All very enjoyable. Thanks for pointing out there are music threads on DL too. Coincidentally(?) the music posters also seem among my favorite footy posters to read [Redleg, Macca, Nutbean, yourself..]!? Anyhow, hope to catch another game with you. You're very welcome to phone/PM/email any time. Cheers, Rob
