Nah. More of our own. Kielty and McInerney.
-
Yep. If he is still there then why not? I doubt we have another cat b rookie lined up.
-
What do you like about McKenna?

I would rather pick up someone who we think has a chance of replacing Spencer. I don't think Hannath is that player. Hannath is 26 this year and will be that 2 year option (3 max). I would much rather take a punt on a 18-22 year old who we think could actually have a chance at a career with us. It will be interesting to see what Taylor does.
-
BTW. I wouldn't touch Smack. I see no point bringing in a player we know is only going to be a stop gap for a year or two. I would much rather take a punt on a kid who has the potential to be a long term player.

So you were uncertain if we had main list spots available? My god. I thought everyone on here would have a basic understanding of how many spots on the list we had left.
-
No one needed to mention the rookie list. We only have rookie spots left. Why are you talking about delisting someone?
-
Who are you asking this question to? Nobody has suggested putting him on the main list.
-
Maynard looks a good size.

What's with the hate? All the best Jared!

That wasn't the point I was making. He is 20 years old and playing very well in NEAFL. If he does take up an offer from a rival club it would be because they would offer him senior game time. We need outside class and speed. He is not that type of player. We have heaps of his type already and he would need to bide his time at Casey next year. So his options would 1. Stay at GWS and fight to win a game. 2. Come to the Dee's and fight to win a game. 3. Go to another club who can guarantee him senior game time. It would be option 1 or 3 in my opinion. Our inside mids are one of our greatest strengths. I haven't the time right now for a full analysis. But we stack up well vs GWS in this area. It's their outside speed and depth where we fall behind. Don't be fooled though. Our best 22 is close in talent to theirs and we should be able to knock them off again next year.

Barrett has been told he will be picked up by GWS as a rookie. He has been in great form in the NEAFL this year. Big possession winner, high tackle numbers. Good clearance player. I would love it if we scooped and used our first rookie pick on him. I think a club will take him as a DFA though. We would have a hard time attracting him when he would be behind all our other inside mids.

It signals our thoughts for the draft. We dont rate pick 86 enough to give them 2 years on the primary list. Wagner deserves at least another 2 years. It means our rookie picks will be the smokiest of the smokey. 1 year to impress or they are out.

Woodward might be worth a rookie spot to someone.

Sounds great!

Should we still be selling games interstate?
BAMF replied to Gingerguitar's topic in Melbourne Demons
If you look at the fixture you will notice that clubs who sell home games have been given less interstate away games than other clubs. The AFL want games in the NT. We get the money and less interstate away games. It's a big win. We don't have to play at skilled stadium this year which means we don't leave Melbourne as much. Still think it sucks? Have a look at all the non Victorian clubs fixture. -
It's Geelong's future pick. Not their own

I can understand the Port trade. Carlton though WTF?
-
Pickett very cheap though. What was he? Pick 4 a few years ago? Lol at the Deledio deal. We picked up Lewis for a song. Nearly the same age and Lewis is more likely to stay on the park. http://www.footywire.com/afl/footy/ft_player_compare?playerStatus1=A&tid1=15&playerStatus2=A&tid2=11&type=A&pid1=1484&pid2=1490&fid1=S&fid2=S

I thought you couldnt trade a future 2nd rounder if you had already traded your future 1st round pick. Where did the Hawks get these picks from? Interesting....
-
I was just thinking how good it would be to get him off our books and renegotiate some other players contracts to front load them a bit more. We would want their third round pick if we are paying part of his salary.
-
Dunn will go alright at Collingwood. He is much more suited to 1v1 defending. Keen to see what we get back. Darren Jolly #31 2001 rookie draft Traded for pick #14 2004 Lynden Dunn

I think the saints are over estimating the quality of their youth. They look to be building a team that won't quite be good enough to take them all the way
