  1. It's a strange rule to begin with. It's like telling a heroin dealer they can continue to deal as long as they help 5 people quit smoking cigarettes.
  2. He would need 2-3 on average? at least? Eddie Betts is the best small forward in the league and he averages 2.45 per game. Are you saying that Garlett would need to be as good as Betts just to warrant getting a game with us?
  3. Sam would only bother using his pace once he got the ball. Hunt is nothing like him.
  4. You were unrelenting during the Scully saga. Not surprised you copped a few bans.
  5. Are we? It's hard to remain objective with your own team. I saw Vince get a cheap free a few weeks ago. Jetta try's to slip out of tackles and gets the odd one thats a bit soft because of it, but I would never say he is trying to draw the free. With concusion such a big issue recenty, surely something must be done.
  6. Brad Scott is training his players to draw head high contact. http://www.themercury.com.au/sport/north-melbourne-trains-methods-to-encourage-head-high-contact-in-tackles/news-story/d3259b0f1e45f667c8a6b165155f624d http://www.foxsports.com.au/afl/north-melbourne-coach-brad-scott-says-his-players-are-taught-methods-to-encourage-head-high-contact/news-story/abb9eac090239020fd1fd69e55d7203b This makes me so angry.
  7. You think it's well balanced? I've seen jumper punches with more force. Only on Monday, one was found guilty of murder. No, the scale is not nearly the same, and yes, the rules are different on the football ground. But they are not suspended altogether. By ever so few degrees, the sight of one footballer belting another in the head legitimises the act more broadly.
  8. Did Viney make Greg Baum cry at some point? He has written another article about him. http://www.theage.com.au/afl/afl-news/afl-2016-heads-you-lose-but-jack-viney-gets-off-lightly-20160530-gp7k25.html He wrote this article when Viney got off after the Lynch incident last year. http://www.theage.com.au/afl/afl-news/viney-bump-was-out-of-time-20140509-zr7gd.html
  9. Dean Kent finished up with 14 possessions. 8 of them were clangers. Ben Kennedy 7 possessions.
  10. Hard to watch. Our better players went missing which exposed the rest of the team.
  11. Yep. Shows our weakness. We need smooth outside player with good pace and footskills. Instead we are playing Newton on the wing.
  12. Crowd loving Port. It's time to ditch this deal.
  13. Dean Kent. 10 kicks. 2 Handpass. 50% disposal eff. 6 Clangers.
  14. Garland gets in the way of Dixons elbow. Garlands fault apparently.
  15. Elite vs Demons at least. Every friggen time.
  16. Looks like time has caught up to Drew Petrie. He has been off the pace so far this year.
  17. Let me rephrase.... There have been a number of posters on Demonland who have raised Tomlinson as a potential trade over the past 3 years. My point is, he is ordinary and I dont see why people want him.
  18. I don't understand the Tomlinson love. We have been linked to him for about 3 years now and I have kept an eye on him. There just isn't anything to get excited about in my opinion.
  19. North would be laughing all the way to the bank with all the trades you listed. Hypothetically speaking I would expect a trade for him to be more like our 2nd round pick for Daw and their 4th rounder. And that would only be if we were interested. I doubt we would be.
  20. He was great for us for that one year. No doubt about it. We also need to remember that we came back after the preseason terribly unfit and then basically gave up. I remember thinking that we were massively screwed at the trade table and paid way too much for him. Especially after Mark Williams said that he was 'unemployable' during the year due to multiple suspensions.
  21. The bad thing about finishing ninth is missing out on finals and the better draft picks. We have traded our first pick away already?
  22. Just to add to this discussion. As part of draft night the top ten players needed to be in attendance to show off to the media. We nominated Salem and Lewis Taylor as back up. I think it would be fair to say we rated him near the top ten and would have selected him at 20 as he would have been available. Also, there is no point discussing Kelly as Roos said we wouldn't have picked him. With all the talk at the time of tall mids I think Bont would have been on our radar.
