  1. You have come round to TMac playing forward then? I did a best 22 the other day and the question marks were TMac fwd. OMac and Frost as the KPDs.
  2. Yeah! There will a couple who slide. Just hope it's someone we want. Have you seen Garner much? He was in first round calculations at the start of the year but seems to be one who will potentially slip to our picks.
  3. Twomeys late mail has us taking Ling with our first. http://www.afl.com.au/news/2017-11-23/cal-twomeys-late-mail-topfive-draft-bolter
  4. Should read. The Demons are overflowing with potential talent. We all know that it doesnt always pan out that way
  5. Quite happy to start rotating it. Thanks Collingwood for letting us have it while we were sick. We're better now.
  6. Personally, i am still dealing with the W purge from the early 2000s. Woewodin, White, Ward, Wheatley, Walsh, Whelan, Wizard Started feeling better when we got Watts and Wonamerri, but now i'm distraught again.
  7. At the time of my post I did not realise we got pick 35 back. We traded less than Collingwood did for Treloar and in my opinon have won the trade. Totally disagree with the 'Treloar is a garden variety mid' comment.
  8. Thanks! the live feed I saw didnt have this.(or I missed it somehow) Super happy now.
  9. So happy that we got him. But we paid way over. We should have got a 2nd rounder back if we were paying 2 firsts. The Treloar deal was the benchmark. Why we had to also give up a late pick is beyond me. If anything we should have got an extra late back as the minimum. We caved.
  10. You have mucked up the link WJ. https://www.sen.com.au/news/2017/10/06/2017-big-board-2-0-or-bolters-and-sliders-galore/
  11. You think so? They made the big dance without him. I doubt Gibbs would been a 40+ point difference in the granny.
  12. Nice work western chicken!
  13. I could never support another team. I would have to change sports if I gave up AFL.
  14. Agreed. If we drafted a player who is as good as Lever is with Pick 10 this year or next years first rounder then we would be over the moon. Its more than likely that one pick would be a bust. Lever is worth 2 first rounders with a second rounder back to us, or our first and second round pick with nothing in return. I have already posted earlier in this thread the history of pick 10. To be safe, lets imagine that we finish 7th next year (I'm predicting higher) and get pick 12 as a result. Below is a list of players drafted at pick 10 one year, pick 12 the next. As you will notice, its highly unlikely you will get a good player with both. Think I have cherry picked? Try it with pick 13, 14 or 15, the results are nearly the same. Jordan McMahon (WB), Brent Reilly (Ade) Sam Power (WB), Jay Schulz (Rich) Jason Laycock (Ess), Ryan Murphy (Fre) Ryley Dunn (Fre), Danny Meyer (Rich) Chris Egan (Col), Nathan Jones (Mel) Marcus Drum (Fre), James Frawley (Mel) Nathan Brown (Col), Cyril Rioli (Haw) Patrick Dangerfield (Ade), Lewis Johnston (Syd) Phil Davis (Ade), Kane Lucas (Car) Jake Melksham (Ess), Lucas Cook (Mel) Daniel Gorringe (GC), Sam Docherty (Bris) Toby Greene (GWS), Kristian Jaksch (GWS) Joe Daniher (Ess F/S), Ben Lennon (Rich) Nathan Freeman (Col), Corey Ellis (Rich) Nakia Cockatoo (Gee), Charlie Curnow (Car) Harry McKay (Car), Jy Simpkin (NM) Jack Bowes (GC), Thomas Gorter (WC)
  15. They changed the rules recently didn't they? If we were only paying 97.5% this year we can pay 102.5% next year. Something like that anyway. But yes. I concur. I hope we have been front loading the crap out of our contracts.
  16. That's where we differ then. I don't think he is just a solid defender. If we went to the draft and took a guy as good as Lever with pick 10 then you would be over the moon. Well... I would be. That's why I think it will cost more than pick 10. History of Pick 10 2000 - Jordan McMahon, Western Bulldogs. 2001 - Sam Power, Western Bulldogs. 2002 - Jason Laycock, Essendon. 2003 - Ryley Dunn ,Fremantle. 2004 - Chris Egan, Collingwood. 2005 - Marcus Drum, Fremantle. 2006 - Nathan Brown, Collingwood. 2007 - Patrick Dangerfield, Adelaide. 2008 - Phil Davis, Adelaide. 2009 - Jake Melksham, Essendon. 2010 - Daniel Gorringe, Gold Coast. 2011 - Toby Greene, GWS. 2012 - Joe Daniher, Essendon. (Father Son) 2013 - Nathan Freeman, Collingwood. 2014 - Nakia Cockatoo, Geelong. 2015 - Harry McKay, Carlton. 2016 - Jack Bowes, Gold Coast. 4 players from 16 years that I would be happy with. 1 of them was a father son.
  17. Pick 10 won't be enough. Dreaming if you think it will be.
  18. There were rumours after the draft that pies were into him. Either last year or this year there was a feature article on him and it confirmed it. It didnt say when the pies were going to take him.
  19. Pies where into him.
  20. Yes. If a trade breaks down, the player has a few options. (With examples) 1. National Draft. (Luke Ball to Collingwood) 2. Pre Season Draft. (Nick Stevens to Carlton) 3. Sign with current club. (Dustin Martin potential move to GWS) 4. Delisted / Retire. Mal Michael retired and was then drafted in the preseason draft by Essendon. This resulted in Brisbane being shafted without any compensation. Pretty sure the delisted free agency rules were written with this in mind and the player cannot be signed as a free agent if there was a contract offered by the current club. Happy to be proven wrong on the last point.
  21. Jones, Vince, Lewis, Garlett, Melkshem and Hibberd have all played in at least 1 final.
  22. Oliver vs Judd at same age. http://www.footywire.com/afl/footy/ft_player_compare?playerStatus1=A&tid1=12&pid1=4166&fid1=O&playerStatus2=I&tid2=4&pid2=109&fid2=O&type=A
