Kozzy Pickett Re-Signs for 4 Years
Exactly. He is contracted to play for the Demons this year. Let's enjoy watching him play. This whole ultimatum thing is ridiculous. What are we going to do if he refuses to sign? Send him to Casey and lose one of our most important players for a season where we have a shot?

Kozzy Pickett Re-Signs for 4 Years
He is out of contract. We aren't getting Rozee or Butters unless they elect to move to Victoria. Rozee is from Adelaide so that's unlikely. If they are out of contract you have little option. Hence we accepted the deal for Jackson.

GAMEDAY: Match SIM Melbourne vs St. Kilda
So far we have seen Gawn and Grundy sharing ruck duties. Oliver, Viney, Pickett, Harmes, Sparrow and Petracca have all rotated at centre bounce. Petracca is impressive. Hunter is a great addition. Owning that wing spot that we have struggled to fill for years now.

Holy [censored] [censored]! Petracca with a huge goal from the edge of the centre square. End of the 2nd quarter.

GAMEDAY: Match SIM Melbourne vs St. Kilda
Petracca in the centre now. Looks like we see more players rotating through there this year.

GAMEDAY: Match SIM Melbourne vs St. Kilda
Judd McVee looks and moves like Melksham. Doing alright in the backline. Chandler lining up for goal. Think he will be better this end. 30m out. Straight throw the middle!

GAMEDAY: Match SIM Melbourne vs St. Kilda
Kayo still working for me. No issues at all. We are getting more reward for effort this quarter/eighth. We look like we smash the floodgates down any moment. We want to play well. Hard to get a read on the Saints though.

GAMEDAY: Match SIM Melbourne vs St. Kilda
Grundy, Pickett, Viney and Sparrow at centre bounce. ANB takes Hunters place on members wing. Goal to petracca. So quick. Edit: might be Hunter on the far wing. Hard to tell him and Langdon apart from distance with Lingers haircut.

GAMEDAY: Match SIM Melbourne vs St. Kilda
Yep. Harder to make out on the far wing now. Got the buzz cut a few months ago. Doesn't look like he is planning on growing it back.

GAMEDAY: Match SIM Melbourne vs St. Kilda
Demons up by 2 points after a Tmac behind from the far half forward line. Happy with what I've seen so far. It's a hot day in the sun but the boys are working hard, look fit and hungry.

GAMEDAY: Match SIM Melbourne vs St. Kilda
Centre bounces Grundy and Gawn sharing ruck duties. Oliver and Viney the mainstay onballers. Kozzie and Harmes swapping. Petracca up forward.

GAMEDAY: Match SIM Melbourne vs St. Kilda
Grundy has swapped with Gawn for the ruck role. Gawn playing further up the wing

Hunter (12) on the near (members) wing. Working hard and pushing forward. Like the look of him so far.

Farewell Kye Turner
Not too fused with the surplus of tall defenders. He will develop at Casey for 2 whole years before we need to worry about list spots. I think people expect too much from a rookie signing. We are giving this guy a year to see how he develops at the highest level.

Dees Under the Microscope
They really phoned that one in didn't they? Where are the dees at? Haven't made my mind up Gawn, Grundy how is that going to work. Don't know. Forward line could be an issue. Might be fine. Dees fans excited about JVR. Off field issues last year. i'm sure they have been sorted Straight sets losses last year in finals. Will that leave scars? Probably not.

SEN: Dees the Best Side on Paper
That wasn't a real thing. Pretty sure Brayshaw even said this himself on an episode of Gus and Gawny after he had signed

SEN: Dees the Best Side on Paper
Where would you have Brayshaw then? I certainly preferred him in that defensive wing position from 2021. He was put there to plug a weakness and did a great job. I'm not sure if we need him there anymore. I would probably have him as first rotation off the bench to fill that role and plug gaps. It would potentially move Harmes out of my best 23 which might be a reality by the end of the season.

Salem Thyroid Concern
What are you basing this on though? I don't get down to see training but haven't heard much in the forums here to suggest he has improved on last year in a meaningful way. I didn't see anything last year to suggest he is anywhere near getting a game.

Salem Thyroid Concern
Never good to be missing a best 22 player, but happy that we have Bowey who should be ready to play the role. I'm excited to see how Rivers is progressing too. He should be aiming to solidify his spot in back half over Brayshaw or Hibberd this year. Hoping Salem isn't out for long though. He never seems to get a good consistent run without injury of some kind

Preferred Midfield Mix
I haven't seen anything to suggest that Viney can play any other role than inside midfield. Viney had a great year. He is underrated outside of Demon fans and maybe even underrated a little on here by a few too. He is excellent in the inside midfield position. The problem is that Oliver, Petracca and Viney don't have great disposal by foot. We may continue to lament our forward delivery while continuing to celebrate our contested midfield domination.

Dees considering big trade plays
I would be super happy picking up Barnett. Not sure if it's worth trading out a good pick next year though. Sounds like our type of ruck. https://www.espn.com.au/afl/story/_/id/35089878/afl-2022-draft-phantom-draft-chris-doerre-espn-full-afl-phantom-draft-every-club-every-pick This year's most highly touted ruckman, Barnett is a contested marking weapon whether pushing forward or behind the ball. Though the middle, Barnett is an effective tap ruckman, but what separates him at ruck contests is his strength to win the ball himself out of the ruck before disposing of the football.

DRAFT DAY TWO: THE 2022 AFL NATIONAL DRAFT
Why? Just to make them pay a bit? Couldn't we just receive the pick and bid on Alwyn ourselves? I would be pretty happy to receive him if they didn't match anyway
-
Welcome to Demonland Matthew Jefferson
Cadman was pick 1. Jefferson was always likely to be the second key forward taken at around our pick.
-
Dees Target Pick 19
They don't need much elsewhere either. Very strong list ATM. Key position depth would be ideal for them but it's not the best draft for it.
