If todays game is anything to go by it looks like Vince might be used as our second distributor along with Salem off the back line.
-
Agreed, I like the kid. He has a red hot crack.
-
They mentioned the Dogs were, didn't saying anything about Melbourne. Would like to get an idea of what the rotation numbers have been today.
-
Frost with 1 handball, 1 tackle and 0 hit outs. I'll be shocked if he's named round 1.
-
Agree, but today he's taken marks, tackled and kicked goals. Thats what we want from him even if doesn't look like he's gotten out 3rd gear.
-
This is pretty reminiscent to last weeks game. Sloppy and poor skills early before the Dee's rebounded in the second half which I'm fully expecting to happen again today. Jack Watts has been really good the last 2 weeks, lets hope its finally clicked for him.
-
Hard to see Oliver not being in the round 1 team, hasn't done a lot wrong.
-
Garland named forward and Frost back, be interesting to see if that pans out.
-
If Frost is to play round 1 it should be as a backman with T.Mac up forward.

Saturday Talking Point: Game Day 27/2/16

I'm not to concerned about limiting the rotations. It's like having shots at goal from outside 50 for 9 points, doesn't exist in the season proper but if the option is there you might as well use it. -

I wanted to do that, but I played it safer and went with the line. -

Why both? Pedersen is a forward who can provide a chop out in the ruck. Frost is a defender playing forward to provide a chop out in the ruck. Considering neither have got double figure possessions I'd be playing one of them and playing an additional runner not 2 low possession mid size talls. -

So neither Frost or Pederesen have been great, but Pedo has kicked 2. It will be interesting to see who gets the support role. -

The last time we played a preseason game in Elizabeth we lost 2 players to serious injuries, one was Jurrah with a shoulder, the other I'm thinking was maybe Robbo? -

So yes, our midfield is light but at some point our younger players need to standup and today is a perfect opportunity. I reckon the Dee's will win, but if they don't I still think they'll show enough to suggest that we'll be alright this year. -
Intraclub Practice Match - Friday 19th February, 2016

Getting a decent backup ruckman would be pretty hard these days, how do you go about recruiting an experienced backup ruckman when all you're really offering them is a chance to change clubs? In reality they're still playing the same role as they are at their current club, baring injury you wont get a game unless by some miracle they haven't developed yet and could become you're number one ruckman. I think there will be less experienced ruckman on trade table this year as most of those backup types changed clubs this offseason, Currie to GC, Simpson to GWS, Giles to WC, Gorringe to CAR, Smith to GEEL. -

Going based on some reports it sounds like we should be more attacking especially off half back with some changes in personnel. Could see the below 6 start off in defense in Round 1. B: Jetta, Dunn, Salem HB: Garland, T.Mac, Hunt Also less pressure on Hogan and Garlett if we get Kennedy, Petracca and Kent all contributing a couple each game. -
Regarding Pedo, I haven't heard anything about him in any pre-season reports. I'm assuming he is fit? Has he been training as a forward, from reports its sounds like as if Frost is preference from the coaches to play that lead up CHF forward role.
-
Built like a tank but that's where the similarity ended. Unfortunately had no tank and despite being built like a tank was susceptible to breakdowns regularly.
-
I've avoided getting to hyped up over the pre-season this year to simmer expectations but geee this training report has got me thinking that maybe wheel has finally turned.
-
We moan about a player being unavailable for 4 - 6 weeks with injury, I don't think I could bear coming here with a player out for 4 - 6 years for homicide.

Not theses days! Someone may offer a first rounder but no doubt the player would have already nominated their preferred club which will offer a 3rd rounder/fringe player. -
