Nice work. What's the stats on turnovers with the same inputs you used above. Interesting to see if using the ball more has decreased the turnover count as well.

I would love to see him running around in an MFC jumper.

Steve Johnson has been cited for dropping his knee into Jones chest. Not good for my Dreamteam but if he doesn't get a week I'll be amazed. Maybe I should prepare myself... Ed: http://www.afl.com.au/news/2013-07-15/worry-for-pav-stevie-j

What a load of BS. We've made our bed by playing woeful football and that's why we don't fill the MCG and make a profit. When our performances improve and we're a top 8 side the P&L will change.
-
We lack midfield grunt and from what I've watched of Wines he goes alright in that department. Granted that we also need players like Toumpas and considering we were assured of Viney it's logical that we chose Jimmy before Ollie. Still too early to call IMO but on the back of yesterdays game I feel a lot better than I did when Wines burst on to the scene at the beginning of the season.

And why couldn't our boys give Johnson a bit back? Why didn't Jonsey get up and remonstrate? Another facet of our game that needs to improve. Get pumped all over the ground and still take cheap shots from fig jams like Stevie J.

Geelong had a conversion rate of 47% (33 scoring shots from 70 inside 50) whereas we had conversion rate of 52% (10 scoring shots from 19 inside 50). Given that several of Geelongs behinds were rushed I think we should all join hands and share the positive that this stat presents. Go Dee's!

They mentioned on the tele early on that it's due to crowd sizes. The poorer teams don't bring the crowds and can therefore fit into the smaller stadium. Imagine fitting a crowd versus a top 4 side in there? Wouldn't happen.
-
A tense last few minutes though. I had a carton bet with a mate that we'd keep the Cats under 100 points. Time to blow the froth off one.
-
Had the tele on mute since half time.

Barely a contest that we're in front of and our tackles are not sticking when the ball comes to ground. They just clear it far too easily.
-
What a prik.
-
That and we don't try and brush off a tackle like the cats. We just go and fall to ground.
-
Johnson should be cited for that knee. Dirt bag.
-
When are we going get in the front of a contest? If we focus on that for this quarter it will make a huge difference.
-
Seriously begin to consider Neil Craig over Paul Roos.

I would like to squeeze Tom Mc into this five but could understand if others disagree. This bloke is able to take out a forward like Riewoldt at the young age he is now. Kicking and decision making aside as they will improve with more games and confidence, I think Tom will be a real key performer in years to come.

Blease sub? Would rather see Byrnes with the green vest on personally. Hope he can pull his finger out today against his old side.

Like for like replacement with Daniel Kerr.

Like I said above, I don't disagree with Neelds general sentiments. I take umbrage with the way he's thought it would be somehow beneficial to Jack and the club to raise more scrutiny on the kid when he was obviously in need of support and private mentoring/coaching. FFS, Neeld had been at the club for all of two months and barely knew the kid but felt compelled to make these statements to the media to which they gladly took and used to add more salt to the wounds.
-
Try this on for size. Maybe it'll fit that imaginary scapegoat. http://www.heraldsun.com.au/sport/afl/lift-your-game-melbourne-mark-neeld-tells-jack-watts/story-e6frf9jf-1226193140413 Neeld at his best shooting off at the mouth to the press and adding more pressure on the kid. I don't disagree with much of what Neeld would like Jack to aspir to but what gives him the right to carry on like this in the press? You just don't get it, do you?
-
This is what I'm trying to explain, Crawf. Watts is behaving like a professional but his belief in himself has been hammered by how Neeld has managed him. I'm sure he'd love to be performing according to his pay and winning games. It's not as simple as you think.
-
Maybe he is trying relative to how he feels about playing at the club.
-
This is the crux of it Billy. Neeld has only just started to listen now after getting smashed in the opening games. Going along with your analogy, if you're top employees think the guy running the company is a total [censored] because of his autocratic ways and is not prepared to listen to their thoughts, it would be a simple decision to move on and make similar money in a more attractive environment. I said it in the Time to Go thread that Neeld just may be able to coach the game but the mistakes he's made and the damage he's done at an emotional level with the players is a massive variable. If he can't win these guys back over at a subconcious level then they will walk. I really do hope I'm proved wrong and Neeld turns it around but until that starts to happen we will be struggling to keep our better troops.

Bombers scandal: charged, <redacted> and <infracted>
McQueen replied to Jonesbag's topic in Melbourne Demons
Footy Classified. What a lame panel of commentators. Garry, GTF out of there. You're losing credibility sitting with those clowns.
