Nervous as all hell, checking non eventful pre game updates in random petrol stations in Slovenia Come on Dees!
-
Woke up in a panic thinking I've missed the game and we lost. Today is the opportunity, the prime time opportunity to prove to everyone, ourselves especially, that we have progressed. That we have improved. That we are no longer a bottom side in this competition. We need to win because on paper we are as good as our opponent. But on paper it also says that we haven't won 2 in a row since before I had grey hair (courtesy of Melbourne). Its time. Go Dees!

The day Trenners makes his return to the G will be a very special day. To me it will signify in some poetic sort of way the end of the suffering. His suffering and ours. His fate seems almost intertwined with the club's performance. He's had shocking luck and so have we, suffered a lot of setbacks as have we. Been through hell and so have the rest of us. His return will signify the beginning of something new, something better and I for one can't wait. Nobody deserves to experience success at Melbourne more than Trenners and Jones.

MFC 2016 Membership - Record Broken. Next stop: 40,000
Jaded No More replied to Lucifers Hero's topic in Melbourne Demons
I don't think there is any point preaching to the Demonland nutbags, as I'm sure everyone here is a member.... But if you're not, sign up! It's time for new records of the positive kind. While my very expensive membership sits quietly at home waiting for my return, I'm glad the money is going to a club that now seems at least somewhat more in control of their sh!t. It's not wasted money like it was a few years ago. -
Melbourne to ditch Alice Springs game from next year?
Jaded No More replied to Bring-Back-Powell's topic in Melbourne Demons
I wanna play at the G. It's better for our chances of winning and that is all I actually care about. If financially we don't need to sell home games, then why do it? Good riddance! -
MATCH PREVIEW AND TEAM SELECTION - Round 5, 2016
Jaded No More replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
As I knew. When Trac is ready they will make a big deal about it and he will play. No issues leaving him out. I'm all for making sure he is fit and firing. Pressure on this kid is massive. If he comes in and blows up in the first quarter, imagine the reaction. As for resting Oliver, kid came in without the best fitness base having lost weight to get drafted. He did really well to force himself into the side, but he can barely crack 70% TOG. Wouldn't surprise me if he's feeling sore and they're worried about overuse injuries. How furious would we be if they played him and he broke down with a groin injury or a hamstring injury? Better to be cautious with these guys. They are the future and precious commodities. No need to rush them. -
MATCH PREVIEW AND TEAM SELECTION - Round 5, 2016
Jaded No More replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
I was fully expecting to miss Trac's debut, but I'm a little devastated that it's actually happening. I still don't think he'll play. Feel like they're teasing him. Like starving a dog and then letting him loose. My prediction is next week. Would also be kind of unfair for Trac to play ahead of ANB who has been smashing the door down at Casey for weeks (and yes I know fairness has nothing to do with team selection) -
Has Roos ever dropped a player after his first game? Hunt won't be dropped and rightly so. Played well, and it would be a cruel thing to do.
-
The joys of being a Melbourne supporter: woke up and we were 7 goals up. Thought to myself "we could lose this". Need to keep smashing them. Would hate to let them get a sniff of confidence.

MATCH PREVIEW AND TEAM SELECTION - Round 4
Jaded No More replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
Good luck to Hunt. CP5 must be itching for a game. -
ABN BOG 2 weeks running in the VFL but Wagner gets a game last week. Makes no sense. Anyway, ABN deserves a game. Garlett an automatic in. Pederson better than Frost as backup ruck option. What happens to us if god forbids Gawn is injured. Who rucks? Haven't seen the game so I can't comment on outs accept Vince.
-
Terrible news. It sounds like an ACL which is devastating. Hope he makes it back, and if he doesn't, I hope the Dogs win the flag for him (and also for the rest of this corrupt competition where only the same rich and powerful clubs win flags over and over again. Boring!)
-
Or he should just look confused, angry, sad and have his head almost explode at every media conference, then cry poor because that seems to work so well for the Scott brothers and their respective clubs. God I loath North. If anyone is kind enough and can post the 2nd quarter on Youtube, that would be amazing and I will be eternally greatful. Can bring some Croatian beer back in return.

I'm purely looking at stats, but seems Jones had a quiet game. Did they tag him?
-
Glad I couldn't watch it, as the combination of bias umpiring, Brent Harvey kicking 6 and North winning a close one would have pushed me over the [censored] edge. Sounds like a decent effort at least after last week. But again why did we let them kick 8 in a row? It's [censored] like that we need to eradicate out of our DNA so that we can stop chasing impossible wins.
-
Was Billy lining up for goal or did he miss on the run? Any team that continues to let Brent Harvey murder them for 20 years deserves to lose. What the actual [censored] is wrong with putting a man on him?!
-
I swear even after retirement Brent Harvey will still murder us. Who is playing on him today?
-
No doubt. It's horrible for a young kid to go down and knee injuries are awful. Just awful. But he's young and has time on his side. But after everything poor Trenners has been through, I just want to see him get some continuity in game time.
-
What a result and nice to hear some young players doing well. On the other hand, what sort of [censored] luck does poor Trenners have? We need him running around getting game time.

MATCH PREVIEW & TEAM SELECTION - Round 3, 2016
Jaded No More replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
I'm very sorry that you get to see a game so rarely and this is the crap that is coming your way I finally find myself at a good hotel with awesome Internet, but I'm not going to waste money and sleeping hours to watch the match as I am more than certain that we will lose. Cant even fathom these team changes. Or why Mission promised us that Garlett will play. Wtf was the point of that?! Also how can ANB not get a game but Wagner does? Nothing against Wagner, but how about rewarding good form?! I am just beyond frustrated right now with this club. Hopefully they put on a decent enough showing on Sunday to make me believe that we aren't forever hopeless. -
I'm glad that Jones' personal life is going a bit better than his professional life. If we are still around when this kid is 18, and the AFL haven't scrapped the father/son rule by then, I will enjoy cheering on Jones Jnr.
-
Being down on form is not the same as having [censored] attitude. He is allowed to have poor games. Nobody is arguing that. He is not allowed to stop trying and spending his game time yelling at teammates and asking for frees. That is not acceptable for a senior footballer, no matter how young. If any other player in our team did that, everyone would be up in arms. But Hogan is apparently excuses because we are horrible and this only impacts him... Funny I don't see any other forward cracking the sads. Or our back line yelling at the midfield for letting so many balls come down their way.
-
Finally get to enjoy the sweet taste of beating my most hated team. Literally every North supporter I know is a massive [censored], including my now ex boss. I literally want to beat North more than any other side, and yet this never happens. Doubtful this will be the week.
-
Lloyd is right. His attitude and body language is terrible, and had this been displayed by say Watts, everyone here would be up in arms. But we seem to have some sort of Jesse complex where he is beyond criticism. I do not care how badly we deliver the ball to him or whether we are playing him out of position. He is part of a team, and he is being selfish. I remember him giving Cross a spray last year and I thought that was horrific from a kid. I like that he wants to be successful, but sooking and having a go at teammates isn't how you go about it. It's a terrible look and it needs to be nipped in the bud.
-
And the worst part is, we don't even have a first round draft pick to look forward to this year. Unless we trade a player... And who in our team is tradable and worth a first round pick?! Good times.
