Yep, as I kept saying, the best way to develop as a KP player, is to play against top players at AFL level. Oscar had an amazing game last night, really did some excellent things, great ball use, very strong defensively and took some good marks. You can just see his confidence is growing incrementally each week. Thrilled for him, and even more thrilled for Picket Fence.

I want Salem in ASAP for Harmes. Great to see JHK back in some good form after a tough year of injuries. I think he has something to give at AFL level.

I still can't see this happening, but honestly I think if we make the 8, we have more of a chance to win the first week than North or West Coast if they play away from home. Both are a waste of space in the 8.

Be reminded yet again what a load of sh*t this competition is, that we are the only Vic side made to play down at Geelong every. single. year! What a crock!

Me watching Hunt play

A good win. I was a nervous wreck, but really the result was beyond doubt in the first quarter. We came out, we dominated, we held strong when they were coming back at us, and we persevered despite absolutely rubbish goal kicking. Best part about this win is that we did it with a lot of players down on usual output. Viney, Jones, Stretch, Hogan, Vanders and Pedo all down on output. That we managed to get it together and smash them in the clearances and inside 50s in the last, is a real credit to our work rate. I also thought this was our best defensive performance for the year. The backline killed it. Oscar was excellent, so was Frost. Tom back to his brilliant self, and Jetta just being Jetta. If Hunty doesn't get the rising star nomination this week, I'm burning AFL house down! Btw, if anyone follows Tom McDonald on Instagram, have a look at the story he just posted- Bernie and I'm not sure who else, topless on a table, drinks being poured on them, singing Sweet Caroline surrounded by other players. Not sure what that's all about, but definite BOG performance by Vince.

If Viney and Jones don't lift we are doomed. Clearances are killing us. Would be greatly appreciated if Hogan chose to do something today.

I dunno why I'm so nervous about this game. It's exactly the sort of game I reckon we can turn up to after half time and lose. Maybe it's MFCSS. This is a good performance especially since we have a few of our better players a little down today (Hogan especially). I'm so in love with Hunt I mean really he is a star!

There's never been a time where I didn't want North to lose, but this is beautiful and great for us. Not only did we beat Hawthorn, we made them angry enough to make sure they won't lose this week!

If we lose tonight, which I think we will, it's going to be such a letdown after such a week of highs!

You haven't lived until you've sat in the middle of the Port cheer squad, cheering for the other team. I only survived because I was with my Port supporting boyfriend. The relationship did not survive.

Aside from Mark Neeld quotes making me want to vomit, this is such a good article with plenty of insight into the character that is Viney. I reckon someone else with his unremarkable traits- average height, average speed, average kick, would have turned out to be an ordinary run of the mill player. Instead Viney has become an extraordinarily talented midfielder, one of the best young talents in the competition, not because of his natural gifts, but because he worked harder than anyone. What a brilliant culture changer to have around. I look forward to him holding that premiership cup as captain in a few years.

They absolutely need one, but since we didn't get it, the priority pick is dead and buried and they can go and get stuffed. They were very vocal about us not getting one and look how the tables have turned.
