Breaking: AFL Player dies in Vegas
1 red eye 1 blue eye replied to stiza_007's topic in Melbourne Demons
Terrible and very very sad and devastating news, most sincerest sympathy to his family and friends. Accidents happen but, far out! -
Asking the manager is like asking the 2 i c, if we thought Lyon was worth chasing and I certainly did, and after the year the aints had, the chat on the ground after the GF etc, he was cherry ripe to be poached, you'd reckon a no from the man himself would have been needed before moving on to the next target. This is another in what is proving to be an alarming amount of ordinary organizational decisions or lack there of. Wholesale risk taking behavior has been the MFC way, let's hope the latest appointment will pay dividends, I believe they can but all the same it is very risky stuff.

Rivers and Gysberts to Geelong?
1 red eye 1 blue eye replied to Weedster's topic in Melbourne Demons
Has had a pretty good year so would prefer he stays but as with others if an opportunity to go deep into the finals arises then I'm happy for him to go for it. -
Sure, on either side of that hole behind the plasterboard there is a timber frame, the hole looks impressive but if he'd hit where the timber was, well, anyhow, looks like I was having a laugh at a serious time, sorry about that.

Lucky for him impact was between studs, otherwise there d have been but a small dent from his wedding ring. For a 1 in 6 chance of a good laugh let's hope he snaps again sometime soon!

Jack Darling ... Why? Oh Why? Oh Why?
1 red eye 1 blue eye replied to Range Rover's topic in Melbourne Demons
Blew me away when they said in the commentary tonight that Jack Darling is also a black belt in karate! From what I understand becoming a black belt in anything demands a fair amount of discipline. FMD! I am right with you RR in your plight to ram home how unprofessional our recruiting has been. -
What if we win on Saturday night?

My daughters will see their first ever win at Subi and I'll put this Freo tanking idea out of my head and enjoy the train ride home for the first time since I don't remember when! -
Jack Watts V Nik Nat swung violently to Nik Nat last night.

A bit unfair on Steven Armstrong I would have thought. He was developing very nicely and looked to have a long career with us. I enjoyed watching him play, he was reliable, was fitting in nicely and could kick a goal. Then as we know was injured in the bombing and struggled after that. I'm sure otherwise he'd have been terrific for us, no way I'll put him in the dud or fail pile.

If his head isn't in the right place it's bound to affect his game. Watched the WC v Coll game last night, how well is Josh Hill doing now he's back home!

If we don't land Cloke, is he capable of becoming our CHF?

With the new young guns coming into the side soon enough, we need every older player leading by example, I don't know how Colin presents himself around the club or at training but to see Colin do this on match day is rare. If he's unable to go about every aspect of his employment with the highest integrity, I'd be interested to see what his worth to another team might be.

Absolutely can. I think he'd help Jonesy's game to a higher level. Would be exciting for the young uns coming our way. And as has been suggested, entice Ling too as midfield coach.

Is Howe the best contested mark you've seen?

Went to a park in North Perth today and b#gger me, came across a kid no more than 4 in the full Melbourne strip! -
Watched a replay of the 89 Grand final recently, I know umpires are less blowy in the big game but gee it was enjoyable to watch, the umps paying "blind freddy" obvious frees only. Current games, I find myself screaming, "play on, play on, please FFS, let them play on".
