  1. In my minds eye I see Jack Watts tearing up a basketball court. I hope Jack Watts and the coaching staff change that.
  2. Agree with this. It would've been good to see him hold a grab or two but as you point out the ball came to ground often which is a positive, thought he was competitive in the Ruck too.
  3. Sunday drivers Cyclone Tracy and the Boxing day tsunami The GST My Grandmothers toe fungus And the up coming alien invasion
  4. My first OP on this fab forum, I will occasionally use emoticons I've been wearing my MFC apparel more frequently recently and yesterday as I was leaving Bunnings the guy at the gate noticed my MFC logo and said "You a Demons fan?" "yep" I replied, after a short pause, "goodonyer" came back, "we're not traveling too well at the moment" I said, he shrugged, and said, "it comes and goes". I drove away feeling proud that I was supporting the team through what has been a pretty bleak period. The guy might have felt sorry for me, or...... was impressed that I was showing that I'm a Melbourne supporter, I don't know, but I felt good for the rest of the day.
  5. Yes, for sure, he has to have that Tuck & Fletcher courage.
  6. I'll give up on Cale only when he's officially De-listed. My body type is the same as Cale s and the players I'd be looking to for inspiration would be Michael Tuck and Dustin Fletcher, these are the guys I see as having the same frame as Cale. If he can reach his footy potential he has the body to allow him to play well into his late 30s.
  7. Just spoke to Lamb about this thread he said to tell youse all to flock off.
  8. Yes, now, but looking forward to it morphing into a pleonasm.
  9. Funny I read Mitch Clark's interview and he says how he and the boys are excited about Neelds plans, excited??? and that they just need some time, has me thinking 2012 aint necessarily about winning games! Just read "Schools in" on the AFL site, Neeld seems pretty relaxed to me.
  10. Is it possible Neeld isn't too concerned about the results at this stage? Maybe one thing at a time is the agenda, contested footy first, that would explain why we're already way better in this area than last year and why we are so poor everywhere else. Neeld will want to be the best in each discipline and may not move on till the players have learn t the current one backwards. Just a suggestion.
  11. If we manage that 13th, a party for demonlanders would be one hell of a get together!
  12. This whole thing is so vague that anybody with a gripe, be it with the MFC, MN or AD could have orchestrated this. Somebody mentioned the effect on future sponsorship and I immediately thought about the recent threats made re pulling a sponsor from under us. Could be anyone, but my opinion, this has come from outside the Club!
  13. He is a Melbourne supporter and only sharing with the wider community what we've been discussing here.
  14. A stunning result will be if we get within 6 goals of them but 98% sure we won't be able to manage that!
  15. Highlighting their names like that really hurts Ron.
  16. I was at the game against the Eagles last year and I shudder to think about next week. The Eagles are very professional they'll take advantage of the percentage boost on offer and I think there's b#gger all we'll be able to do about it.
  17. Yes dee-luded. I closed my eyes this morning, drew a long deep breath..........relaxed, and with that, accepted where we're at. "Whatever it takes" is our mantra, we will stay the course. As supporters we're the lucky ones, all we have to do is support, the Club though, has a monumental amount of work needed for success and we need to support that effort. We will stay the course.
  18. Hate the rule too, it penalizes the player of the ball for not getting the ball out, and rewards the other bloke who is doing everything in his power to keep the ball in there.
  19. I watch it until they preview our game, which is often irritatingly the last game they get to, and all the while busily muting Brayshaw's add reading and rolling my eyes at the cr@p they come up with, it just aint funny anymore.
  20. @Deeoldfart Does it mention in the book when Ben became interested in the metaphor "such is life"? It surprised me at the time he got inked, as it seemed contradictory to the positive perception I had of him. Seemed like a real downer to me like tattooing "Sh!t happens" or "life's a b!tch" on yourself. I'm a great believer in what/how you think is what you get. Our Jim really had a short life, but by god, look where "Whatever it takes" took him.
  21. I've thought about Sean a lot since he passed and have thought of him often since we lost Jim.
