  1. And if they do the kicker is either too slow or just not confident enough to put it in front for the player to run on to.
  2. A first year player who had a slow start but is now picking up the tempo of the game and has improved markedly as the year's gone on, I'm happy with where he's at.
  3. Thanks for that melbournefc has helped somewhat with the pain from today!
  4. Loved your endeavor Joel, thanks for your hard work and the best of luck to you going forward.
  5. That wasn't even a half ar$ed effort from JW very disappointed, voted to retain but now.........shakes head, really disappointed.
  6. Great question, many claim he's cooked but he was still more effective and creative with the footy than most of his team mates today. I think we can read from Bartletts speech that our senior players are going to get far better treatment than has been shown recently and rightly so. So like it or not I'd say the new era begins with Davey being offered a 1 year contract, the decision will be his to go again or retire.
  7. Underline, bold and add an exclamation mark.
  8. Anybody know a witchdoctor? http://www.smh.com.au/news/football/socceroos-owe-it-all-to-one-man--and-it-isnt-hiddink/2005/11/19/1132017026017.html http://www.theroar.com.au/2008/11/27/the-curse-of-the-socceroos/
  9. Agree with fuchsia and I'm also happy to continue with this supposedly ancient topic, the problem is discussion with anything about any topic on DL where the Club is criticized is that a band of merry men rally to the Clubs defense and throw in enough counter claims, and put enough doubt into the topic that the truth becomes hazy. The difference between now, and previous discussion, is what we suspected, is absolutely true, this Dam is busted. The cr@p at this Club had turned to stone but forums like this have been chipping away and now larger chunks are breaking off. Lets keep chipping I say.
  10. Ok, thanks, I've obviously barked up the wrong tree here and apologize for that.
  11. Are we so stuck up that we wouldn't like hearing Hawthorn people saying "how's the Hawthorn connection at Melbourne" instead of how it currently stands with Melbourne people at Hawthorn?
  12. Because of your position re Demonland I understand that you are too close to the Club to be open to this possibility.
  13. I watched Mickey Malthouse put Mathew Richardson on the back foot on Fri night and the Journo's after the game, he is one prickly customer, he's 60 and coaching well, Carlton look a lot stiffer to me this year. So Mathews at 61 cannot be said to be past it. These men are at the peak of their intelligence. I implore the Club to open lines of communication with Lethal, you can't tell me he wouldn't be noticing Carlton's improvement and feel like he still had it in him.
  14. Shows how long we've been treating senior players (Captains fmd) poorly. Seriously disappointing decisions, the old reaping what you sow comes to mind.
  15. Thank you Don, it must have been extremely difficult at times. I wish you well and hope we all see the on field success we crave.
  16. Agree with this and I'd like to see a few more indigenous boys added to our list. I heard that since Freo's inception there has only been one occasion, one match in their history, where an indigenous player wasn't in the team, I like that.
  17. Paid positions are different...most Geelong people didn't have a problem with Bomber or Scott as coaches, nor a problem with an Hawthorn supporter ex Melbourne player, WC boss as CEO but it was driven by Frank Coster's passion for Geelong and his football club. I know we've copped some big beatings over the last few years but too many of you are punch drunk, you've lost your marbles if you want Jeff as president. I'm with in you in what your saying, but our ideal is a man like Jeff Kennett or Eddie who barracks for Melbourne, but, do we have one?
  18. Hopefully Ox's comments add some extra grit and determination to our boys fielding the MCG Monday. I would love to see this game turn into one really ugly scrap.
  19. Absolutely don't have a problem with this, I think people passionate about Football would genuinely want to see the founding Club succeed, it comes down to the history of the game and goes beyond who you barrack for. Most Melbourne people have been happy with a Bombers supporter as our CEO.
  20. I agree and wasn't disappointed with the effort today it's the skill level that crucifies us, we didn't seem to be out muscled in 1v1s
