  1. Watching his highlights I can't help noticing that he has a similar set shot kicking action similar to Brad's.
  2. I really can't wait for next season. I copped it all year this year from my mates and there is really so much you can put up with. I'm sure there are other people on here who know the feeling but it just got too hard to go and watch and end up depressed again for another week, while your mates take the [censored] out of your team. I know we are going to see a much different team next season and I'm pumped just to know we won't be the pathetic pushovers we were this year. Carn the Dees.
  3. I used to be quite fond of Martin but after re-watching a few games from this year I have come to the conclusion that Sellar > Martin. Sellar might not be as athletic or pacy but he has strength and a presence around the ground. He does really well in the contest and although he doesn't take a heap of grabs, I really struggle to remember when someone out marked him in a one on one. Definitely has a future in the backline if he keeps playing the way he was in the back half of the year.
  4. Honestly no. What I hear is people scoffing that we have spent pick 20 on Dawes and lured a 'hack' in Shannon Byrnes to the club. But when I hear them laugh at these sorts of things I think 'Just you wait until next year, because we won't be a joke anymore, we might just beat your team', and I feel better and I have more faith. For the record I think everything Neeld and co have done so far is fantastic and I can't wait for next season just to prove some of these smug pr**ks wrong.
  5. Still works when 'joint' refers to the structure of the MFC and its players as a club. He is literally transforming it by bringing in new and ejecting old!
  6. If we can get Wines at 4 and somehow Stringer is available at 20 (if we still have the pick) I will be ecstatic. I think Stringer at 4 wouldn't be a silly option by any means but it seems like there are more 'safe bets' before him like O'Rourke, Toumpas, Grundy, Wines, Macrae and so on.
  7. Totally agree with this. How many times in a game this season did a player from the MFC have 30 plus disposals? Players who have a knack of finding the ball are hard to come by and we have maybe a couple of prospective ones, but none at the moment. Gysberts can be one of these players.
  8. Heard something on the radio today which was a direct quote from Lance himself. Can't remember exactly what he said but it was along the lines of 'If I am found guilty, it will negatively impact every person out there who suffers from cancer'. Good on him for beating it but achievements aside, he is a dead set [censored].
  9. I wish Morton and Bennell all the best for their health, but it shouldn't be of importance in the scheme of the club as they should not be there next year. Seeing as it is unlikely we'd get anything for either of them, their health shouldn't affect potential trades. Great news about Maxy and Davey, hoping to see them both back to full capacity on the field asap.
  10. Can't agree with you here. Bennell, Cook, Jetta, Dunn, Bate, Bartram (because of injury), Davis, Morton, Spencer and Petterd are all players I'd see gone before MacDonald to be honest. He is a must keep for mine as he adds experience and hardness to the side. Although he might not be the best kick, his other attributes make him a better player than others who might be a better kick but can't find the ball (Bennell for example). On the age issue, I think the Bailey era has shown that youth alone will fail. We need a good mix of age and experience and Joel's age group is one we are sorely lacking players in.
  11. Superstar in the making. I really hope Neeld gives him a go up forward next season, would love to see him take some good grabs and kick a few sausage rolls.
  12. I really do have a soft spot for Joel. Sure his kicking isn't fantastic but there are only a few guys on the list who go harder at the contest than him. As well as that, he really does know how to find the ball and ends up with good numbers a lot of the time. A good accountable, hard nosed defender with a real mean streak... a good combination.
  13. Can I nominate myself for a wing/half forward?
  14. Freo have announced that he is on the trade table. Agree re pick 20, he is definitely worth it. Wouldn't give up anymore than that though.
  15. In the unlikely chance all four of these guys are drafted, I reckon Frangas would struggle to get close to winning a game next year.
  16. I suppose that's a similar role to Nicho but Broughton is a much better player at this stage.
  17. Reported that Greg Broughton of Fremantle has been put on the trade table. I like him as a player, is a real possession accumulator and a passage out of defense. Seems to have tweaked his game a bit recently to become more accountable and attacking in the contest, hence his tackling numbers have increased of late (probably due to Lyon). Definitely worth a go IMO but the only thing I see is difficulty in determining his value at the table. Thoughts?
  18. Wines, Stringer and O'Rourke in that order of preference. I'd have Toumpas before those three but I doubt he'll be there at our pick.
  19. Saw Leigh Brown out at the Prince Patrick hotel last night, he walked past and I asked him if I could get a photo with him. He laughed, said nuh and walked off. Shattered.
  20. Give Relton Roberts a look in if he's keen for another crack.
  21. Nicho is grouse, looking forward to seeing him elevated and making a big impact next season. His disposal (18.4) and mark (5.2) averages are great and love his pace and determination. Definitely a Neeld kind of player.
  22. Yeah I gathered that reading the other posts, thanks anyway.
  23. Sounds like an ancient Roman general. I am actually so excited to see Gawn playing in the seniors again, just hope he fully recovers from his latest knee reco.
  24. Still, there are probably people who'd like to see him in the ruck. Just making my opinion known rpfc, no harm done is there?
  25. I suppose that is a way of looking at it and all these other guys are good insurance but I think it'll be more Neeld increasing Clarks ruck time and needing more big blokes to fill thee forward fifty.
