I really hope we take him, though we shouldn't spend overs on him just because he's Chunks brother. However he's shown enough to give the impression he can be a player. I think he could excel at the MFC, having such a driven and hard working role model in Nate.

Hold on, Kreuzer has had some pretty good seasons and he did do his ACL, missing 12 months of footy. He is definitely a better player than Watts. I agree that all these number one picks have been less than stellar and have not copped what Watts has however as much as I hate to admit it, Watts has been the worst of all of them (except Scully). That's not to say at all that I think he won't be a good player. For those bagging Gibbs, get real. He has played very well in quite a few seasons. 2009 (third season) he had 615 disposals and polled 15 brownlow votes. 560 and 548 disposals in 10/11 and lost his way a bit last season (still managed a measly 481). He has done very well recently so he is far from a muffed pick number one.

What we need is a win tonight and a little bit of confidence.

I hope they don't play Dawes in a similar condition to last week, it only did him and the team harm by having him out there virtually incapacitated. How was the intensity from the main group? Take anything from it?

That's the same stupid policy we had with players, Martin and Darling to name a couple we passed up. I don't think we should be slagging bomber off so much, regardless of the players he has had to work with. He's done pretty well for himself in terms of on field success. In saying that I don't think he's the right candidate for us nor is there any realistic chance he'd end up at the Dees.

Nicholson should be delisted as soon as his contract is up. Magner has definitely earnt his spot in terms of matchday performance, Nicholson hasn't.

I reckon you are probably spot on. Couch I could agree with but I thought Magner is definitely good enough to slip into our midfield.

Gawn and Fitzy will be interesting to watch, I reckon they could work quite well together. Possibly a duo for the future. Great to see Chip back in, this team looks like it could definitely overrun the doggies.

I really hope we win because the chances of picking up another are growing slimmer each week... it would be beyond atrocious to finish with one win for the season.

It took me a few moments to get through the first four words of that post... I do think the problem is far more of a financial one however you are right about players. But I'm sure if the AFL actually pursued this idea they'd make it worth the players while to stay down there a la GWS.

It's really good that the players that are being called out to talk and mentor are very good players and in the instance of Ling, very successful. We probably couldn't ask for better role models for our young midfielders.

Primus is probably just trying to get his name out there in the hope that he'll have future employment prospects as a senior coach. It's over Matty, forget about it.

Didn't have to be a challenge at the tribunal necessarily, just the club coming forward and saying publicly that it did not agree, it was a poor decision etc. However we can't really be doing things like this when we are relying on the AFL for funding and support, I'm sure they wouldn't appreciate it.

I really hope Dom comes on and it sounds like he has some great attributes. However Casey twos isn't a great start - someone on an AFL list should be at least playing VFL firsts consistently. Especially as he is 19 and we are halfway through the season. It's clear that he has a lot of work to do and I hope he takes it up a few notches so that he can have an impact at the top level. If he doesn't, I suppose it isn't a huge loss as we didn't pay much for him.

It really will depend on who we get. If Roos was keen we'd probably announce it as soon as possible. Williams and Eade will have to see out their contracts to the end of this year so those two are likely to be announced at the end of the year. Lack of action regarding Roos makes me feel that we probably won't get him so it'll be later this year I think. Just my opinion anyway.

Soz what I meant was we will have someone doing that job, even if it is incorporated into a different role and with a very different name. We will need to have someone managing the list and contracts.

Not true, we'll have another 'list manager' soon enough. They just won't necessarily have the same title... Harrington was a battler.
