Hopefully Siddle and Harris can start to dig us out of that hole tonight. Then we need some sort of miracle to chase down the 400 (at least) that we'll probably be chasing.

Alan Stockdale wants to be President
Little Richard replied to Chopper Lovell's topic in Melbourne Demons
Seems like Neita at least is level headed at the moment. -
Stupid because they'd have no hope in getting Hogan from us. Jetta would be an upgrade from quite a few guys on the list at the moment so as long as we didn't have to pay too much, I'd take that.
-
Anyone keen on Leeroy Jetta? Looks set to leave the Dons this season.
-
Hopefully. OOC this year?
-
They really are as stupid as they look then.
-
We seem to have some sort of mental block where we can't recruit guys who can do more than one thing.
-
Don't start this again
-
We can't keep carrying blokes who can kick and do nothing else, both of those guys fail to win the ball more than 10 times in an AFL game anyway so what's the point of being able to kick properly? They, along with Nicho and Joel Mac should be off the list as soon as possible so that we can take a punt on some new draftees. There isn't anything to be gained by waiting for blokes who will never be good players, to become good players.
-
Definitely in regards to Taggert and Tynan, it's about time they showed something to warrant a game in the seniors. Strauss - don't really care because he shouldn't be on the list much longer, he just isn't up to it (one of a number on the list who aren't).
-
Wouldn't hurt to have a crack though.
-
If we are talking about offering up a top pick for Sloane, why not offer up one for Griffen?
-
Rhino again, this is a great start.
-
Little Joe gone! Harris bowling well which is good to see, I was worried he'd be well underdone.
-
No way. PJ has already stated that experience is a required quality in the next senior coach.

Melbourne has moved on from Roos
Little Richard replied to red and blue forever's topic in Melbourne Demons
All three of the guys you mentioned were inexperienced when they took over. We cannot afford to have another inexperienced coach - this selection is huge for us and we need experience. Someone who knows the footy world, has good instincts, understands the game in its current climate and knows how to win. Craig and Williams would both be great to fit this role and Craig is already showing that he hasn't lost touch through the side's last few performances. An inexperienced, younger coach is way too risky right now, another Neeld who turns out to know a lot less than he says will destroy the club. -
As we found last year it ain't that easy to get these players as success becomes more of a factor for the older guys rather than money (for the most part anyway). If we get one of the names being thrown around here I'll be very happy.
-
Good assessment, I think exactly the same words apply for Dale Thomas. If we could get one really tough, leadership type ie Sewell and another such as Dal Santo, Thomas etc we'd be flying. If it has to be one, the Sewell type is spot on.
-
That's true but at least they've given us a few wins over the last couple of years !

Adding to this, there is no way the AFL is going to let it go like this for five years and think 'oh, we gave it a shot but it'll never work so we'll demolish the lot'. They will make GWS a marketable side and a (at least moderately) successful side, no matter how much it costs and no matter the concessions that have to be made.

Little Richard replied to red and blue forever's topic in Melbourne Demons
I don't think you'll need to worry about that, PJ has explained that experience in a senior role will be required. Any of Williams, Craig and Roos will be very good for us and Eade to a lesser extent. -
Probably their most accurate article in regards to footy in the last decade though.
-
Bit of a nothing article, it's what you should expect from the Herald Sun.

Melbourne has moved on from Roos
Little Richard replied to red and blue forever's topic in Melbourne Demons
I hope none of this is stroking his ego... it must be a nice feeling knowing that the job is there if he wants it. If we've moved on due to his indecision or whatever it may be, it is the right decision. We can't be waiting around for him to make up his mind forever and to do that would be weak. -
He did have seven tackles against Geelong, not such a bad effort. I'll put your comment down to trolling.
