100% Agree, however... I think he really risks not become as good a player as he has the potential to be by playing at GWS. Unless they can recruit some experience he is not going to have any big bodied protection and will receive the number one tag every week. At Melbourne he would have had the likes of Jones, Moloney, Sylvia, Trengove and Jamar in the midfield with him. Other champion midfielders developed their game with support around them. For example: Judd had Kerr and Cousins alongside him with Cox tapping it down their throat. Ablett had Ling, Selwood and Bartel running with him. He will have no one to protect or help him out except for a bunch of 18 year old kids (and a Rugby League player!!) I think next year GWS will be desperately looking for some more experienced players to recruit.

Why? How much do you think Essendon is paying for their coaching Team? How much to you think Clarkson is getting? How much do you think we would have to pay for Malthouse? Good people cost a lot of money. If we are serious about wanting to compete then we have to spend money getting the best people to our club. We are basically head hunting one of the best coaches in the league away from another club, it’s not going to be cheap. If it pays off then the $5 million will be made in Premiership memorabilia alone!!

Expectations for most important players for 2012 in no particular order: Watts - Huge year where he continues to show why he will be elite. Trengove - Will take further steps to being next captain Green - We need some real experienced leadership next year. Put 2011 behind him. Frawley - Defensive General. Continue to organize the back 6. Grimes - Runner off half back - one of the most important roles in any team. Jurra - More dominant forward target with less pressure (Howe and Petterd to step up) Sylvia - 50+ goals (Edit: maybe a bit ambitious) Jamar - All Australian Moloney - As above. Jones - Continued improvement. A strong body and big heart is essential to team dynamic.

Anyone who really does love this club has a hollow feeling today, yet you are happy we lost a gun player just so you can feed your own ego. You claim to drive a Range Rover but you quite clearly have no class.

Yeah I'm not totally convinced but looking at the previous 10 years number 1 picks, the odds are we have lost a quality player.
