What do you do following a loss?
It depends entirely on the day of the week that the loss occurs. The earlier it is, especially if it's a Thursday night, the more I curse the AFL. Mind you, I detest Thursday night football (other than ANZAC Day eve or on any Thursday before a public holiday - which means the Thursday before Good Friday), so I'm already angry with the AFL anyway, whether we win or lose.

2024 Expected Score Ladder
I'm not convinced about the "expected scores" stat because (apart from shots at goal after the siren at any quarter), the result of every kick for goal changes the next play. Every time a team kicks a behind, they give the ball back to the opposition. A more impressive analysis would point out that Melbourne is still trying to work out what its best forward mix is while all the while having won 6 out of 8 games. (Credit where it's due: This was stated by David King after round 7, obviously when it was a 5 out of 7 score line).

Mother's Day: Goodness gracious me. Congrats to the AFL.
On mine it corrects to "colon". So, basically the same thing.

A bit of Nostalgia for the old Folks….
It's all in the timing. He seemed to be too slight when he was an AFL player presumably incapable of building body mass.

PREGAME: Rd 09 vs Carlton
We're in the fortunate position of having all of Bowey, Rivers, McVee, Howes, Salem and May as excellent distributors out of the backline. (Lever and McDonald, not so much). Take your pick from those, apart from May. I agree that we don't usually make structural changes when things are going well. However, moving Rivers to the midfield is just going back to what seemed to be intended before both Bowey and Salem were injured.

The Drums are starting to beat for North
I hope you are wrong. Too much football (meaning spread over too many days) will destroy the product. Someone needs to explain to the AFL the economic value of scarcity.

PREGAME: Rd 09 vs Carlton
I was at the game on Saturday and have subsequently watched it on the TV on replay, too. I can't see why Billings is so unpopular here. Yes, some of his kicking was substandard - but he wasn't alone in that. I accept that he's in the bottom few and with players coming back his position isn't secure. I thought all seven defenders played well with Woewodin now looking like he belongs at this level. Nevertheless, if Bowey is available, he should come in which means either Woewodin loses his spot as a defender (although not necessarily in the side) or we use this chance to move Rivers to the midfield. My preference would be to move Rivers midfield and wing (to take up the 30% DeeSpencer referred to earlier). So, if Bowey comes in, unless someone needs a rest, I'd move Billings to sub and Laurie misses out. Which would be a shame.

The Drums are starting to beat for North
Didn't Carlton own 20% of North Melbourne at that time?

Former players
Things I like about this photo (apart from it being a Melbourne FC team): black boots long socks wool jumpers no sponsorship logos no mullets or other silly hairstyles no visible tattoos

For Carlton. I wouldn't be upset if North made a Grand Final soon.

I've PM'd a correct answer. Whether it's the answer Demonstone is looking for is another matter.
