The Next CEO
Another person with a similar history to Josh Blanksby is Andrew Giles, CEO of VicRoads. Before that he was CEO of Racing Victoria and before that CEO of Betfair (Josh Blanksby also worked for Betfair). I'm not sure what would be easier - mending potholes or player relationships.

PRESEASON TRAINING: Friday 22nd November 2024
Who's the blonde? Whoever he is, I'd love to see the club select him on the half-back line with Woewodin and Bowey. We could then just refer to the half-backs as Bowey, Woey and Snowy.

Where does he use it? Here, perhaps? https://www.sidetracked.com.au/entertainment-centre/laserforce/

Welcome to Demonland: Harvey Langford
To be really pedantic, it was first recorded by its composer Isham Jones (great name, by the way) in 1924 without lyrics. The first version recorded with lyrics (penned by Gus Kahn) was by Marion Harris, also in 1924. I think the reason I never made it as an AFL footballer was because I'd prefer this song to anything recorded by AC/DC. In fact, it's one of my favourite songs of all time.

Decline in the number of Indigenous players in the AFL
Thanks for this. But what is "private S+C coaching"?

The Power of Social Media in the AFL
I assume Demonland qualifies as social media...so a somewhat ironic line in the OP (which is a very good OP, by the way.)

I thought Bowey's kicking in the 2024 season seemed to be "off". If he's got this weapon back, he becomes much more valuable.

Adrian Dodoro Wins Trade Period Once Again
It made page 1 of The Age print edition. That's a high level of publicity for what should really be inside the back page. Best part of the story, though, is the statement by Essendon that Dodoro's departure was "amicable". As if. How many amicable departures end up at the Fair Work Commission?

You've pointed out that Petty is working the defensive lines. What offensive line is Cleary working on?

The Next CEO
I wonder if Josh Mahoney is still interested? I assume CEO of an AFL club is a more prestigious position than a senior role at the AFL.

70s football ...
Footy in the 70s for Melbourne supporters was dreadful. But, thankfully, the music of that time was just wonderful. Mind you, if I had to choose, I think I would prefer it the other way round.

PRESEASON TRAINING: Monday 11th November 2025
It's been said before that good coaches understand the skills of the game and gameplans. Great coaches, on the other hand, also understand players. While I appreciate you probably meant to say "emphasises", it's a handy reminder that for our team to succeed, we need our coaches to empathise with the players.

Congratulations Neale Daniher
I'm shocked. Not that Neale has been honoured in this way but by the timing of it. Why didn't this happen sooner?

Max Flags New Young Leadership Group
I'm interested in why you see McVee as a future leader. What's the evidence for this? I see a great on-field talent, but that doesn't always translate to being leadership material. You could put together a great team of players none of whom had any leadership interest or capability. Players such as Gary Ablett Sr, Bruce Doull, Buddy Franklin and Dustin Martin were all greats of the game, but none were leaders.

Will DEMONLAND be subject to the social media age restriction ban?
The Federal Government has announced it is proceeding with legislation to prevent those under 16 from using social media. This article appears to sum up the position well. I don't know if there are many, or even any people under the age of 16 who use Demonland. I also don't know whether Demonland would fall into the category of being low risk and exempt. I'm not even sure that Demonland would be considered to be a "social media platform". What I am concerned about, though, is the impact of the legislation on Demonland's administrators if Demonland is captured by the new law. Let's hope Demonland isn't captured by the law, but if it is, that it is considered by the eSafety Commissioner to be low risk and therefore exempt.

Am I missing something? Why is there a map of Cazalys Stadium, Cairns in the middle of this announcement regarding training at Gosch's Paddock?
