  1. If Mitch leaves, we should be entitled, without much debate, to the FA compo a player of his value and age would be worth. He was paid more than Frawley... would be band 1. If Frawley and Clark have got to go, and we have picks (2),3,4 as a result, I'd trust Roo's and co to make that a win for us, Tyson style.
  2. If Mitch and Frawley go we shall be looking at picks 2,3,4 based on the salary and value of both players... The AFL can call it a Priority pick or compo for Clark, but... anything less would be a travesty. And with those picks, and Roos, we are looking at a better draft than last year that netted us 3 top 5 players.
  3. Agree Maldon. I guess the reason to include the Clark Jurrah dream in there is that all clubs will be looking to "do the basics well, over and over and over each game..." and to lift to and exceed "AFL level" fitness, so what can we do EXTRA to bridge the gap? How can we find or develop the superstar, etc... we need? Above what our opponents are doing?
  4. Come seasons end there will be 17 clubs looking to improve and 1 happy club looking to go back to back in 2015. In this context, what can the MFC do to fast track our run up the ladder. Recruiting - This year with 3 experienced recruits making it into out top 5 player, we seem to be improving with our drafting (from a low base), what more can we do? Development - Casey struggled and failed to make finals, indicating we still lack quality dept and development has a long way to improve. The ins/Outs for the AFL team also often seems to be adding little. What would be the ideal development platform for the MFC? an academy (aka Swans)? , a full MFC VFL team? Wildcards - Clark, Jurrah, ... are seemingly in our grasp, if they are keen and able, should we try to find a way? Quality yet with issues. Ideas - International players? Are we doing everything we can?
  5. We should leave no stone unturned, would have Crusty the Clown come to Melbourne if he could get into our best 22. Heretier could get into our best 15 atm, hence we should look closely at him.
  6. I suspect the lid will come off when their season ends, with players, Thompson, etc... scattering in all directions.
  7. A Swedish friend I follow wrote an equestrian article that appeared on that site an i saw the Melb one there... surprised!! and funny.
  8. Demon humour gone global - http://www.aftonbladet.se/sportbladet/article19469108.ab
  9. The problem is not with Jack, more with our list's lack of depth and talent such that we have to play and rely on Jack week in week out. Much to our dissapointment. He's alway suffered from that expectation, and he's not up to carrying this team. But to be fair, none on our list are, and only a few in the AFL could (i.e Ablett). Jack will rise with the tide...
  10. I think Roos is putting pick 2 on the market so to speak to entice clubs to lower their objections to us getting a PP as theres a chance they could trade in for it...
  11. Last year was too close to our "tanking" findings and the Paul Roo as coach thing blurred our vision from seeing the list issue. This year we are starting to be an embarrassment to the competition.
  12. MFC humiliated once again. But also cements 17th spot and applies for a Priority Pick... Don't care.
  13. Bye bye finals for the Pies. hehehe
  14. "I think it is just terrible and disgusting how everyone has treated Lance Armstrong, especially after what he achieved, winning seven Tour de France races while on drugs. When I was on drugs, I couldn't even find my bike." - Willie Nelson
  15. Maybe instead of a PP, the MFC could ask the AFL for two additional short term rookie spots and first dibs to "recruit" two former players as extra rookies, able to be upgraded, etc... Clark and Jurrah. Cinderella clause. Oh to dream away the long winter(s) of our discontent...
  16. I'd have Liam back as a rookie if he came down and asked to play with us again. In a heart beat. Ain't you folk seem the Hustler, our Liam's got character now. Knowing whats involved, if he wanted to come back... Wow! In a heartbeat.
  17. I think its an intentional raising of the tanking word. we'll play a solid 4 games from here, beat GWS, nearly upset WC then ask for a PP on basis we DIDN'T Tank, but we're still in dire need and fit all the criterial the AFL have...
  18. Or trade them for Hogan & Barry + Tyson & ? (I forget) + Petracca... We need all the help the rules allow.
  19. In 2014 we look likely to have lost both our experienced bookends in Clark and Frawley, as the MFC takes another two steps back. A PP would represent a single step forward.
  20. Please Sir, I want some more?
