I humbly admit to being wrong. I didn't want him at the club when he was at The Filth. Thought he was being spoon fed by a very good midfield in 2010. Didn't see his strength, tank, determination and leadership qualities. Now I see the light. He's a real gem.

Love the Gorgeous name on the back of the jumper. Very funny whoever is doing it.
-
Did the afl also refer Packer and Gyngell directly to the tribunal?

So are you saying Lynch did not secure possession or that Lynch took possession? Or both? Looks to me in the replay that Lynch bent forward and took possession, had it knocked out in the clash and that Viney ran onto the ball from there. I think Viney possibly could have tackled, but that would have opened him up to being crunched by Lynch, so bracing himself was his only realistic option. Unfortunately the high contact has resulted in a broken jaw, it would appear.

The official I love Dom Tyson thread

I just shake my head in amazement that a 20 gamer looks so polished and smooth. Not used to that from a Melbourne player! -
Changes for next week...

Has Blease done enough at Casey to warrant selection Biff? -
Cabs are too expensive these days dc. Give us a dink on your bmx instead. That way you can come too.

Really liked his guts backing into that marking contest in the 2nd qtr (??) to cut off an Adelaide attack. Got crunched big time and then fronted up to contest a stoppage bounce. That took a lot of courage and got a fair bit of praise from his team mates. Hope he keeps up the improvement.

Correct Bitty. No one can read [censored].

Sorry. Not well written on my part. Just meant I thought he had time to tackle rather than bump.
-
I think it's part of the game too Dockett32, but it's fair to say he could have tackled. If there was time for him to brace side on, there was time to tackle, unfortunately. I watched the footage again on the afl site and tried to picture in my mind JV putting his arms out to wrap Lynch up in a tackle with Georgie. There was time.

The issue is the contact to his head by Viney's shoulder. Only thing he could have done would have been to drop the shoulder lower to hit him on the rib cage/chest. Very hard to do given how quickly it happened. They'll probably say that if he had time to brace himself he had time to tackle or drop the hit lower.

Dunn is very good one on one. Struggles with decision making sometimes when he has the loose ball, eg, kicks on the full or somehow props and gets tackled. But he's really stepped up this year. Hope he keeps it up for the full season.

Left me speechless too Robbie!

Wojo got suspended for that hit on Viney.
-
Geez Viney is like a terrier. He went hard and won the ball. Goes hard every time. It's a contact sport FGS.

For a guy that has played only about 20 games, Dom Tyson is a very good footballer already. That goal late on the game was both grunt and pure class. The glimpses Salem has shown will make the pick 2 for Dom and pick 9 trade a good one, probably for both parties.
-
Dunn had a few brain fades this game.
-
And this not 15 meters bs is terrible.
-
Pedo and Grimes very courageous in first. Salem's goal was great for him and the team. Watts running hard, chasing and tackling. Is this really the Melbourne Footy Club I'm watching? Good stuff.
-
Hoping Pedo plays back and Chip goes forward. That's where they are best positioned in our current side IMO. Would also like to see Salem play a full game.
-
Fair point and noted. But so is the ignore facility.
-
Calling BBO clean cut is probably offensive to his loose and unhygienic ways WJ.
-
Ironic that there are probably more posts on here criticising comments for being off topic and calling for more moderation for those who post off topic when they are doing the same (as am I here).

Your finest work Biff. Well said.
