WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - BILLY STRETCH
Moonshadow replied to e25's topic in Melbourne Demons
Roos, Taylor and T Viney will know exactly what he's worth. They won't bid more in the draft than that. Really hope he's good and we get him, but we won't be paying too high a price. -
Bloody love a ruckman with a bit of argo whose hobby is hurting opposition players.
-
That is certainly the height of rudeness Toady. Very naughty.

Best thing we can do to get the guys we want to re-sign is to win games, lots of games. A spirited victory on Monday would help massively. -

Borderline AA? He's been good but not that good. Doubt anyone other than Melbourne people think so. Dom Tyson, yes. Nate Jones, maybe. Good dream, though. -
Think they'll isolate Rivers in the square with Cloke.......... oh, wait......

Joel Selwood was amazing in his first year. If Salem gets anywhere near that by year's end I'll be happy.
-
I hear Christian Salem shaved with a chainsaw from age 11.

Seeing some our big blokes crash through and hurt opposition means bruise free football is a thing of the past for MFC. Love watching Dawes tackle, Viney go hard and Pedo throw himself into the contest.

I used to play against East Burwood in the mid 80's. They wore shorts and jumpers then. Interesting tactic DC. Skins vs tops, eh!

Have you seen the size of him Biff? The only thing you could beat him at is Scrabble, and even Enyaw could do that.
-
^^^ that was such a extraordinary and intelligent post you had to edit it! Well done Einstien

As far as paraphrasing goes, that's quite a stretch Bitty. Using your teacher's artistic license to full effect. I think he actually said "I refuse to join any club that would have me as a member". My favourite Groucho Marx line is "I never forget a face, but in your case I'll be glad to make an exception", or maybe "I remember the first time I had sex - I kept the receipt"
-
Clearly correct posture was not one of their finest lessons Biff.

I too knew someone who worked on the current emblem. Not that closely. But he knew I was a Melbourne supporter, was not proud to show me the finished product. Indicated that they preferred it pared down, but that the directive was to include the symbols that were offered by the club. Ours is the busiest looking logo/emblem in the AFL IMO. Those indicating that the resources put into this are at the expense of the FD are kidding themselves. PJ is all over the books and wouldn't change too much unless it was financially prudent and viable. The brand helps sell the club, a poor brand does this poorly. If it is done well, it will pay itself back. Couple this with a rise up the ladder and our marketing will proffer.

I heard he's currently dating the Mad Monk's daughters..... all of them. -
The current emblem is a dogs breakfast of symbolism. New one should definitely have a cartoon pic of Roosy with horns on his head. All class.
-
Do you know for a fact that any money being put into a new emblem will be at the expense of the football dept or are you just ranting?
-
Trade for another quality mid. Treloar maybe. How about Swallow from GC? Yes, I know GC are finals bound, but a big bag of $ might tempt him. Dylan Sheil?
-
I saw a faint MFC emblem watermarked on the front of the home jumper a few weeks back. Was quite large in the middle on the 'point' of the red V. I noticed it when watching player interviews on the ground after the match. Anyone else see this?

Dawes in. Gawn out. Unless any other niggles or illnesses occur during the week. Toump did just enough to keep his spot IMO. Unlucky for Gawn, he does need a run of games though. Roos likes team stability.
