Yeah, that's right tatu, it's a conspiracy. I'd like to know if they plan to shoot JKH from a grassy knoll...

Slamming Sam says take QB Monday game off Melbourne
Moonshadow replied to bush demon's topic in Melbourne Demons
I can see your point, but it's our only big game for the year. I can't remember the last time we played a Friday night game and we seem to get all the terrible Sunday twilight games. Being a republican, I'd much prefer it become the President's Birthday match. -
Jamar subbed off, Good or bad move?
Moonshadow replied to Bobby McKenzie's topic in Melbourne Demons
Could the runner delivering the message have got the words Russian and Salem mixed up? Too long a bow? -
No. Non-playing assistant in 2015, yes.
-
Take a deep breath Bitty, have another shiraz and plan your diary to be clear for the next PR dinner date.

Now that's quite disturbing Song. Not sure if that means you like him (or would like to do that to him) or he's not on your wish list! If he continues to play well for the remainder of the year he'll cost wy too much. What about a forward /ruck? BTW, what's happened to Jack Hannath at Freo? Seems to have dropped off the radar.
-
Yeah, right on! What was for mains, and did the wine match?!!! Did anyone leave a tip?
-
Delete trash to add more trash. Nice. Back on topic, I think another ruck would be prudent, but given the injury history of our KPFs I'd also love to get Lynch from GC.

Yes, I too heard he jarred his knee. Not sure of the extent of it though. -
And that, my friends, is checkmate!

He's a wolf in sheep's clothing. Ewe'd be wise to ignore him. -
Was he calling out for Stuie in anger, bemusement, madness or lust? Or was it related to his bladder control?

^^^ this. Sounds like GB sees us having a VFL team based in Collins St. Would be a very narrow ground.
-
So we aim for a "competent" team then? Nice.
-
Sure, but it is the basis of our ongoing success.
-
No, but it comes before club ties, tinkering with the song, Collins St addresses and baseball comparisons.
-
A successful footy team is built by winning games consistently, making finals and becoming premiers. That should be 95% of the conversation about Melbourne's future. Team success brings financial rewards and an increased fan base.

Make the finals, maybe win a flag, post large profits like the bigger clubs, increase membership numbers significantly, attract marquee players, THEN talk big. I can imagine Coll or Haw trying this, but a club that is universally known as a struggling cellar dweller, that only exists because of large afl handouts... not yet. Like the Anzac eve match, like the idea of keeping PR and PJ for longer term rather than for a couple of years, even like the logo to be simpler (if it doesn't cost too much). The reference to NY Yankies, the name Melbourne in the song, the ties and uniforms are odd bits of fluff. The Collins St address is an unnecessary indulgence, unless Bartlett knows of a benefactor who's about to donate a building to the club. When was Collins St made part off our current heartland? Surely there are better value options than prime cbd real estate. Maybe it's the way Caro has written it, but it looks much like a scattergun and often emotional range of ideas.

Interesting side note that Stef Martin had a good game against the doggies yesterday. From The Age review of the game: "And a surprise packet was Stefan Martin in the ruck, who went hit-out for hit-out with All-Australian Will Minson, and managed to get the better of his more feted opponent around the ground as well."

Sorry... What was the actual "quote of the year"? Just trying to find the real words JKH said...
