WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - STEVEN MAY
Moonshadow replied to DemonLad5's topic in Melbourne Demons
Stef Martin has, up close! -
Happy for trade of Garlett for pick 50 as well. Pick-anything actually
-
Agree, but would want a high 2nd rounder (i think they have 23) as well as Kelly for two high 1st rounders. Or swap of our 2nd for 23, ours likely to be about 33 or 34. Kelly +23 for Hogan? Where do I sign?
-
Gee wiz, anyone else now glad Jason Taylor, Todd Viney and Josh Mahoney would have done their due diligence weeks ago and assessed Hogan's trade value?
-
Many consider other mids better to target than Shiel, especially for the trade picks and contract amount he'd command. Tend to agree.

Very interesting development, Luce -
Not even if Max dropped in for a beer and a dart?
-
It might make Gaff's decision difficult if we got to within 100k of Norf's offer. Freeing up 800k by trading Hogan could help this
-
Yes, quite right. Forget he was a FA
-
Contracts mean little in AFL. We can use him in scenarios if we choose, just like you can choose not to tell us what we can think
-
Especially given Hogan is contracted for another 12 months. If he wasn't, we'd probably accept less Doubt we'll do a Dodoro and ask for the farm, but Cerra plus a high pick is reasonable IMO
-
Didn't Adelaide get pick 9, 28 and Dean Gore for Danger and a late pick? If we got similar for Jesse there would be a riot in the Long Room
-
Will there will be a lot of young Dees fans with no 1 on their backs crying soon?...
-
I was led to believe Jesse was a huge Crows fan growing up
-
Yeah, I got a couple of pm apologies out of that one, but none out of SWYL, of course. Too busy waving his hands in the air being overly outraged about something that never happened! "Simpson should be ashamed for giving Gaff 4 votes!" Hahaha! Don't want Hogan to leave, but if he does there will be lots of hissy fits on the trade board and lots of humble pie to be served!
-
Lever cost us pick 10 and pick 15 or maybe 16 (after FA compo and Academy/FS matching), plus a swap of late picks. We got a bargain IMO. Hogan may not have a bad knee but he missed a whole year due to bad back and now he has issues with foot nav bone, which is nothing to sneeze at. For Hogan I think we'd more likely get a high first rounder (6) and maybe a future 1st rounder, or if pushed, a player such as Langdon. But it wouldnt surprise me if it was a1st and 2nd rounder only.
-
Er, why? I sure as he'll know you, Bub and I will be dishing up some humble pie on the Trade Hogan thread should he be traded to Freo!
-
Careful Rocky, you'll have the serial deniers from the Trade Hogan thread demand this one be shut down If we got two 1st rounders for Hogan (fair imo) I'd like to trade one for a key back or quick mid with good disposal and the other used on Rankine. That's assuming we sign Preuss, as I believe he is a good support for our remaining key forwards as well as support for Max.
-
See Toby Bedford thread
-
I recall someone saying that he turned up at half time for one of the home finals games. Can't remember details, so grain of salt.
-
"Reportedly", is the key word. My point was the shouting down some posters received a couple of weeks ago for discussing Hogan's trade value and whether the club and Hogan could be open to a trade. As an aside, what's the difference between being open to a trade and wanting to be traded?
-
Wrong Wise. There's always been talk about Hogan and Freo. Always. The current talk is still media talk, but now you're jumping on board?? It was always going to wind up as trade week got closer. This trade period is particulary frenzied. He might go, might not, but if you must continue, you'd do well to re-read this thread and pay attention to those of us who rationally discussed trade options 40+ pages ago. And yes, I'd like to have a cape. Can I also have a mask and tight shorts?
-
That's what I was thinking, given Preuss' desire to get more game time in the seniors. He's a handy player when positioned forward, and has done some impressive things there in his limited games at Norf. Maybe Goodwin has told Preuss that there's a forward/ruck spot for him in the knowledge Hogan will go.
-
Far more? Has this come from Jesse? His management? Goodwin? The club? Or just mixed media reports in which "it is understood"? What's changed, apart from your nervousness? After all, he is apparently happy at the club and settled in Melbourne, which must be true, so he surely can't be traded, right???? Posters such as Bub, Febes and I have put up with a bunch of outragists shouting us down or demanding the thread be closed simply because we dared to discuss Hogan being tradable for the right price. Now you are doing the same, despite nothing from anyone outside of the media. Not your finest hour Wise. Might only be 2 weeks away from serving up a big slice of humble pie to a few on here, as much as I'd rather not.
