WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - STEVEN MAY
The old "manager shops around to drive his price up" trick! Can't see him coming to Melbourne, what can we offer Suns?

SC increased from $10.37 to $12.45mill this year. That might account for some of it. Plus the kangas have been stockpiling SC cash space since being knocked back by Dusty and Kelly. It not unrealistic for them to land all of those mentioned. Whether they are all any good or want to play for a club outside the 8 is another issue.

Maybe Norf told Gaff a fib, once he's there he 'plays his role' as directed by the coach. I can't see Gaff not doing what Scott tells him to do. I'd say that if he goes to Norf it's because of the massive coin they have offered.

2018 AFL National Draft prospects: The next batch
Would be romantic, wouldn't it? Given the circumstances, Taylor would know exactly what he is like Also, he's not a F/S selection anymore.

Farewell Jesse Hogan

"Don't sweat the petty things and don't pet the sweaty things."- Farewell Jesse Hogan
Club and player want to stay together until 2021. Just signed an extention which 99.999999999999% of people would agree means both parties are set. It's not like Hogan, who falls out of contract in 13 months. What don't you get about that? Your left nut will be divorcing you very soon.- Farewell Jesse Hogan
The fact that the previous sentence is fabricated bullsh!t based upon the contract extension both he and Freo willingly signed in good faith about a week ago. Logic isn't your strength mate.- Jayden Hunt
Only 23 and if my memory serves more correctly, was a late starter to footy at school. Not to mention the back issues he had early. Still learning and will hit his peak at 27, IMO. Big preseason and he'll be hard to get out of the 22.- Farewell Jesse Hogan
Interesting isn't it. The guy is a highly rated media commentator who is paid to do exactly this. What Lyon said was not unreasonable commentary. Despite the Neeld fiasco, Lyon has a very good footbal brain. I don't believe he's claiming insider intel, yet the haters can't help themselves. Some on here suggest Hogan could play in the backline and get shouted down. Roos suggests the same and they go silent. Roos has enormous respect obviously, but the message was the same.- Farewell Jesse Hogan
“ think all the clubs would be looking at what Sam Weideman is doing at the moment and they will be asking the question to Melbourne,” Lyon added. “I don’t think there will be any doubt about that."- Farewell Jesse Hogan
Stand corrected. Adds to my point.- Farewell Jesse Hogan
Interesting the talk of Jesse going 'home'. Where exactly is that? He's lived in Melb for last 6 years. His mother lives in Melb Much of his family live in SA His closest bunch of mates are at MFC I'm not sure supporting Freo as a kid counts as a lure anymore.- The No T$ No B$ Thread

We'd ask for 5 plus Andrew Brayshaw, and probably settle for 5 plus Langdon or 5 plus Freo 2019 first rounder In that case I'd use 5 to tempt a star like Whitfield or Shiel, though talk is hot on Shiel to Bombers.- Farewell Jesse Hogan
That's just ridiculous. He's needed, will stay, unless he has second thoughts. But I'm not as against a trade as others on here, were it to arise. Howerver, your trade scenario is irrational. No way Freo would give up that.- Farewell Jesse Hogan
Mr Leg, where did I say this? I think it would be a great statement for Jesse to re-sign before the October trade period. After all, he loves the club, he loves living in Melbourne and we are on the rise. Gives him certainty during recovery from foot injury and the club would have clarity. I want him to stay, I've posted that repeatedly, but a strong club is more than any one player. No sane person wants to push Jesse out. With his contract coming up in 13 months, wouldn't it be fantastic for him to recommit soon rather than watch it drag on?- Farewell Jesse Hogan
Yes, we will get enquiries. No harm looking at what's available and talking to Jesse about his next contract. His current one expires in 13 months. It's a fair conversation to have, especially with the development of Weid. Those saying Hogan should play as a tall mid are completely missing his main strength: a big bodied, contested marking beast. Any other team would stick him at CHF or FF and say "clunk a stack and kick a handful". We have such tall riches that we're actually talking about making him into a running mid??? Madness!- Sam Weideman
