  1. It wasn't and he wasn't. It was bad, very bad, but he won't be put in a cell by police. Not should he.
  2. If that's where the line is drawn, then every jumper punch, every tummy tap, every raised elbow should be charged by the cops as assault??? Gaff's hit was clearly bad and he will cop a heavy suspension. But he should not face criminal charges. That was my point. There's plenty of over dramatic outrage on this thread in the last hour or two
  3. Not defending Gaff at all, but your comments are way over the top, Fang. Lots of things happen on the footy field that would be assault on the street. Some are within the rules of the game, some not. That's the nature of contract sport. Gaff's hit was out of character, unacceptable and he'll rightly cop a heavy suspension. Still, I'd love him at the Dees next year.
  4. Damn you Dazzle!
  5. For the sake of us who use the ignore function PLEASE DON'T QUOTE DEELUDED
  6. My understanding is that the AFL can give them a pick anywhere. Could be after their 1st pick, or it could be 'mid first round' or it could be 'early first round'
  7. Why would WCE do a side trade as part of Gaff deal when their compo for him leaving as a RFA would surely be a pick inside top 10. In a draft with excellent high end talent, this would clearly be better than trading for, say, Tyson, Harmes or ANB. My understanding is that if Eagles do a trade for Gaff they get no AFL compo. A sneaky lop-sided trade on the side would not get past the AFL trade integrity officer (yes, I know AFL/integrity). Can't see this going through myself.
  8. Hardly consider Cooney the model judge of character. Heard some alarming things there.
  9. Advantage rule applied at Adelaide's descretion
  10. I with you Bitters, so to speak. C'mon Dees, no time like the present!
  11. Would rather 'the consistent umpire gets applauded and deserves another game next week'
  12. $2mill pa. Everyone has their price. Just that we didn't have that to spend until AFL stepped in with money and PJ
  13. I second that motion. All in favour?
  14. @Bitter but optimistic very quiet and safe on Land these days. @Biffen is unsighted. You gents in rehab or found some other vent for your perverted fascination?
  15. Before the dawn???
  16. I believe the HFC annual profit matched their gambling profit last year
  17. Watch two idiots duel
  18. Would like Garry Lyon to write a follow up commenting upon Neeld's article
  19. Yes, Jesse Hogan is his one redeeming action
  20. Yes OD, youth is wasted on the young.
  21. I quite like blueberries too Mr OD.
  22. Yes, the reality is we are in the 8 and a real chance at playing finals this year. That's a fact, not a shadow, a false gospel or getting all "moist". Some on here conveniently don't want to accept that we are as much a chance of finals as we are not. But if you wish to keep wallowing in your MFCSS then as you say, knock yourself out. I too have been around the block, have seen many false dawns, but no premiership. I'm realistic enough to see this list is in a good shape moving forward with a coach that is learning and growing with the team. I think we can probably agree to disagree. I'll leave it at that for fear of going off banana topic. Go Dees!
  23. I really wonder if you and WYL would actually enjoy sharing that beer Bub. Truly. Some on Land are fixated with the failures rather than the advancements we've made. That's the prevalent MFCSS. We are all disappointed at the losses, especially Sat night, but on the whole we still are a real chance at finals this year and certainly next year. Add Gaff or similar to a healthy list and there is much to look forward to. I am always optimistic about what we can do next week, next year. I hope. IMO what holds us back as a supporter base is the culture of negativity and the fall back into failure and blame. It's what I hear over and over from other footy following mates. You can choose to not expect much, or you can look forward to next week and be positive about what lies ahead. Let's enjoy the journey together, through the ups and the downs (nothing is perfect), but i honestly believe there will be more ups over the next 5 years. Rant over.
  24. Surprisingly, I'm with you Daisy. And I'm still confident about finals this year, despite the company that loves misery here
  25. Rationing bananas???
