West Coast + Cale Morton = Premiership?
Good Times Grimes replied to Dee man's topic in Melbourne Demons
I think Bennell will be the one to lead them to a premiership...Morton will just be his right hand man. If those two are given a chance with the Eagles at the top level they'll each consistently rack up 40+ disposals at 98%+ efficiency. They're that good. I wish the Dees had invested more time into them... 2013 will be their year! And if it's not, 2014 will be. Sarcasm. -
2013 - The Year of Neeld
Good Times Grimes replied to Sir Why You Little's topic in Melbourne Demons
We're running out of things to talk about, Stuie. Just play along until the break is over and the players are back at training. -
2013 - The Year of Neeld
Good Times Grimes replied to Sir Why You Little's topic in Melbourne Demons
A big year for a lot of players on our list too, with Watts, Sylvia (UFA), Davey (RFA), Grimes, Taggert, Gawn, Tynan, Fitzpatrick, Nicholson, Evans, MacDonald, Sellar, Jetta, Davis, Couch, Magner, Rodan, Gillies, Clisby, and Stark all out of contract. Watts, Sylvia, Davey, Grimes and Jetta all need to step up a gear in 2013; they've far from reached their potential. Taggert, Gawn and Tynan need to show something and aim for substantial game time in the firsts. I'm looking forward to 2013...bring it on! -
That's correct. There was an article on the MFC site about them earlier this year: http://www.melbournefc.com.au/news/2012-02-08/introducing-the-boston-demons.default?

Training - Wednesday 19th December, 2012
Good Times Grimes replied to Dinosaur Rover's topic in Melbourne Demons
33 would be Dom Barry. -
Perhaps the Mayans were right, and this is the apocalypse. I can picture Wilson's headline now: "Demons charged with tanking; Schwab causes world to end".
-
Definitely the same deegirl... She posted the same thing on Demonology. Here's to hoping that she's wrong.
-
We need to bring the attitude that Neeld desires in his players to the negotiation table. Rolling over is not part of the MFC culture anymore.
-
While all of Blease's nominations are incredibly similar, I'd give it to the first one (against Fremantle)
-
Should've seen that coming. The JV jokes never get old.

Hmmm one picture of a sign saying no swimming due to crocodiles, and another of all the boys swimming. I hope it was in a different pond! No way in hell I'd swim ANYWHERE in Kakadu.

I expect for Dawes to have a much better year than last. He won't be rucking at all, and should be camped out inside 50 for the majority of the season. Not sure what to expect of Pedersen though; I think he'll be James Sellar 2.0.

I have no doubt that people wear them when they first get them (if they purchase their membership before a game), but I'd be interested to know how many people ever wear the scarf more than that first time. It's easier to wear it than to carry it around with you. My bet is that the majority of membership scarves end up in the back of wardrobes. The MFC should create an initiative to recycle old scarves and give them to new immigrants and young people. This would prevent the scarves from wasting away, and would help (hopefully) to grow the supporter base.

Demonland Subscription Mobile Skin/Version of Demonland
Good Times Grimes replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
Great work. I'll be purchasing the Life Membership in the coming months...have to get Christmas out of the way first. -
I'm with you there. Playing every week, and at least 10 times in the senior side would be a win for Gawn.
-
I think that's more a case of people claiming what they're entitled to as it is of people loving the scarf. I often opt out of receiving anything, but the club still usually sends me the scarf; not quite sure what the deal is there.

Who will be in the new Leadership group
Good Times Grimes replied to Barney Rubble's topic in Melbourne Demons
Frawley was in it last year -
It's so nice having players actually want to come to our club, and being disappointed having to go elsewhere. Great to see the team actually becoming a TEAM. Good luck to Jack; maybe he'll be a Demon at some point down the road.
-
Do pet memberships count towards the total membership tally? I guess they must for some clubs, since almost all 70k+ Collingwood members are animals. But seriously...does anyone know?
-
Hopefully as far away from the MFC and it's affiliated VFL side as possible. Clearly doesn't think about the consequences of his actions.

Who will be in the new Leadership group
Good Times Grimes replied to Barney Rubble's topic in Melbourne Demons
It will be interesting. Assuming we'll go with 8 members (as we did in 2012), I'd say the following are a lock: Grimes, Trengove, Jones, Clark. That leaves 4 spots up for grabs. The top candidates for those 4 spots would have to be: Rodan, Byrnes, Dawes, Jamar, Frawley, Garland (the last 3 partly because they were in the leadership group last year). 3 smokeys I'd consider including are: Howe, McDonald, Watts, McKenzie My prediction: Grimes & Trengove (Captains) Jones Clark Dawes Frawley (the back-line needs a member) Rodan Byrnes -
Either charge us or drop the investigation

Pre Season Draft - 11th December, 2012
Good Times Grimes replied to Whispering_Jack's topic in Melbourne Demons
What ever happened with Adam Saad? I haven't heard anything about him since the draft combine. -
The Inquistion continues until at least February ...
Good Times Grimes replied to Whispering_Jack's topic in Melbourne Demons
It will continue until at least February assuming that they will charge us and bring us before the AFL Commission. They can drop the investigation any time they like, which I think will be relatively soon.
