Bombers scandal: charged, <redacted> and <infracted>
Good Times Grimes replied to Jonesbag's topic in Melbourne Demons
Any idea how long this "investigation" is going to last? -
Where are Melbournes' Power Players?
Good Times Grimes replied to jackaub's topic in Melbourne Demons
Community work/influence they have off the field. It's definitely a filler article...the tanking saga is over, nothing new to report on the drugs scandal, no major stories out of the NAB Cup this week. The Herald Sun needs to something new to put on it's website, so this is it! -
I hear Venezuela's looking for one as well...

I always make the mistake of picking too many Dees in my Supercoach team... this year I think the only ones I'll go for are Watts, Jones and Viney (everyone will have him i their side). I refuse to pick Sylvia again, and I don't think Magner will be worth his price tag. Which Dees players (if any) are others picking?

GWS don't need any more concessions. They're going to be a powerhouse within 5 years, and adding Franklin will only make them better. It's unfair on the rest of the competition.

After his first few games last year, I was convinced that he was the worst footballer I'd ever seen. That turned around when he was thrown into the backline on the night we beat Essendon, and since then my opinion of him has changed. It's nice to see that he played well as a forward yesterday, but from what I have seen he is better in the back half. I wouldn't be opposed to playing him as the second tall in the forward line until Clark comes back, though.

Will Neale Daniher ever coach again?
Good Times Grimes replied to ashdemons22's topic in Melbourne Demons
BRING BACK BAILEY!!! -
I watch this on a regular basis. It's upsetting to think that everybody on that team is finished... it doesn't seem like that long ago

PA is hardly fielding their best side; it's a matchup of MFC and PA's fringe players. It's a case of neither side wanting to show their hand, as they're coming up against each other in Round 1.

Will Neale Daniher ever coach again?

Yes it was nice to play in a Grand Final, and it is the best season Melbourne have had in my lifetime. But 2nd place means nothing: -

With the list we had during Daniher's years at the Dees, we should have won a premiership. Instead we lost more games than we won. -
I detect an inconsistency in your predictions, Srjennings

It's the best start to a season in NHL history. I wonder how long they can keep it up for...
-
I'm a fan of Mark Neeld and everything he has done since joining the Dees, but if he starts using Jones as a tagger then I will begin to seriously question his coaching abilities.

So... you would be surprised

Since the tanking saga ended, this forum has been filled with posts about parking around Gosch's Paddock, topics criticizing players before the season has even begun, and endless "Your Team for Round 1" threads. It seems like we need something else to talk about, so here it is: make you predictions for the season ahead! I can't think of many AFL players that match that description; most ruckmen do not reach their peak until they are older than 24. Naitanui is the only player that comes to mind that fits all of your prerequisites. Sydney's ruckmen did not match your criteria (Pyke & Mumford), nor did Geelong's of 2009 or 2011(Ottens), Collingwood's of 2010 (Jolly), Hawthorn's of 2008 (Campbell)...I could go on.

I think we have the makings of a quality small back on out list in Nicholson (if he can improve his kicking), Jetta (we'll hopefully see what he's all about this year), or even someone like Tynan. Do you mean that one of the above players needs to become an absolute gun midfielder? Or all of the above + 1 more? We definitely need a quality small forward, though. Mark LeCras would be nice...

If McDonald's employed somebody who was charged with murder, would McDonald's be punished? I don't think so.
-
Guilty of Conduct Unbecoming, according to Jon Ralph. WTF is that?!
-
Why wouldn't we have to pay the legal fees?
-
I would not, I'm just wondering what people think will happen if this is how the AFL decides to penalize us.
-
You could, in theory, think of paying $300k for all that we got (directly and indirectly) for the priority pick (Scully) that we earned through --allegedly-- "tanking". So... we gained Clark, Toumpas, Hogan, Barry, Dawes, Viney (if you believe we struck a deal with GC and GWS), and we paid $300k. If you'd offered me all of those players in 2009 for the price of $300k I would have taken it.

Do you think the MFC would take it to court if these actions were taken against them? It would be cheaper to accept them, however it sounds like Mr. McLardy will challenge anything unless we are cleared completely.
