  1. I think St Louis has a pretty solid team, but I can't see them getting past the likes of Anaheim or even Chicago. Minnesota has an awesome offensive lineup and they will go as far as their goaltending can take them..they could definitely be the surprise packet of 2014. Pominville, Parise, Koivu, Heatley, Moulson and Suter all have the ability to put up big numbers and will be tough to stop. In the East I think it's a two horse race between Boston and Pittsburgh. I'd like to see Boston lose as early as possible. A best case scenario would be seeing them squander a 4-1 lead in game 7 with 10 minutes to go (I'm not bitter about last year). As for who I'd like to win, I admire the way that Colorado has played this season, especially after most people gave them no chance in October. I also wouldn't mind seeing Columbus do well, just because they've been so bad for so long. Hopefully it's an exciting couple of months with a few surprises!
  2. The Leafs are so much like the Dees
  3. I just re-watched the game (it's not often that you get to see the Dees win twice in 24 hours), and I have to say that yesterday was by far the best game that I've ever seen Rohan Bail play. I've never been much of a fan of his, but his running, tackling, and most surprisingly, disposal, was top notch. Hopefully he can keep this up. Spencer is another who is a true competitor. Loved his pressure and second efforts, especially for a big man. The effort and intensity that he gave yesterday was something that I can't recall seeing from a Demons ruckman in a long, long time.
  4. I'd say he was largely "ignored" in the West Coast match because we were getting absolutely pulverized. The lack of celebration after the goal yesterday was because he made a selfish decision. I don't think there's any need to read into it; he'll learn from the mistake (that ultimately paid off) yesterday and will be better for it.
  5. 6- Jones... super consistent and deserved this win more than anybody else. 5- Frawley... dominated up forward 4- Spencer... by far the best game I've seen him play. He doesn't take [censored] from anyone 3- Bail... ran all day and kicked a couple of important goals. 2- Viney... provided some crucial grunt in the middle at key stages in the game. Not afraid to take the game on. 1- McDonald... He's getting better every week. Many honourable mentions too: Grimes, M Jones, Cross just to name a few. It's so nice to have too many good players to pick from, for once. Re-watched the match and had to put Bail in there. By far the best match I've seen him play.
  6. I'd like to see Frawley forward and Dunn back, given that Dawes is playing. Not too fussed about it though.
  7. AHH Demonland is messing with me and has changed the silhouettes. Hogan has been replaced with Tyson. It will now be: Garland, Viney, Trengove, Vince, Jones, Roos, Grimes, Frawley, Howe, Tyson, Watts
  8. When was the last time we made no changes between rounds?
  9. Pretty sure it's: Garland, Viney, Trengove, Vince, Jones, Roos, Grimes, Frawley, Howe, Hogan, Watts
  10. Throw the bank at him! If he's going to sign with us, though, we need to show him that we're on the right track. Two seasons of steady improvement and we're a chance.
  11. Unfortunately I'm the type of person that has to watch matches live. I even stayed up for all of 186... If you have the number of a good therapist, please PM me.
  12. I'll be waking up at 4am in my part of the world. They better make it worth it!
  13. You clearly do not understand the first thing about mental illnesses.
  14. BRING BACK JUICE!!!
  15. Agreed, I would be surprised to see him at all for at least 2 weeks. I hope they manage him very carefully as concussions can have terrible effects later in life.
  16. All the best Mitch, I hope you can get over your health issues as soon as possible. Would be a bonus to see you back on the MCG giving opposition backlines headaches.
  17. Hawthorn Fremantle Sydney Collingwood West Coast North Melbourne Richmond Geelong Essendon Port Adelaide Carlton Gold Coast Adelaide Melbourne Western Bulldogs Brisbane GWS St Kilda
  18. In light of this article (http://www.afl.com.au/news/2014-03-12/season-predictions-2014-crystal-ball?utm_medium=RSS) on the AFL site today, I thought it would be a good time to get the Demonland community's predictions for season 2014. I've added in a few other categories than are in the original article. Top four: Hawthorn, Fremantle, Sydney, West Coast Premier: Hawthorn Runner-up: Fremantle Wooden spoon: St Kilda Moving up: West Coast Set to fall: Port Adelaide Brownlow Medal: Ablett Coleman Medal: Kennedy (WC) NAB AFL Rising Star: Grundy Coach of the year: Roos Headline you'll see: Roos signs on until 2018 to finish what he started. Headline you won't see: Meatloaf to perform at 2014 Grand Final Can Gold Coast make the finals? No How many goals will Buddy kick? 30 How many wins will Paul Roos lead the Dees to? Nine Will James Frawley stay at Melbourne? Yes Dees B&F: Vince Dees best first year player: Hogan Dees leading goalkicker: Howe
  19. Dunn plays his best footy in seasons that his contract is up for renewal. Don't expect him to be re-signed until at least midway through the season.
  20. What would Mahoney know? I won't believe anything unless I hear it from Barrett or Denham.
  21. Dan Nicholson.
  22. You've seen him at training? I wasn't aware that he participated in that.
  23. PR didn't have much choice given that he was contracted. I think otherwise he would have been gone.
  24. This is a pretty self-explanatory topic, but I'm curious to see what others think. There seem to be many who think that Jamar is past it, but some who think he will still be #1 this year. Then there's the Spencer vs. Gawn debate. Some people are massive fans of Fitzpatrick. There's also been several on here who have suggested playing Mitch Clark in the ruck. I'm curious to get a read on what the majority of posters think will happen with our ruck stocks in the immediate and not-so immediate future. See my thoughts on each option below: Mitch Clark: I think he's a fantastic FF (when he gets on the park), and I'd hate to lose him from inside the forward 50. That being said, he was incredibly effective for Brisbane when he played in the ruck, and if I'm not mistaken came close to being All-Australian. I'd only like to see him in the ruck for brief stints, and only if two of the other options are unavailable. Jake Spencer: I love his aggression and competitive attitude. I became a massive fan of his in NAB1 when he got into it with Dustin Martin. I could see him being #1 by season's end if his skills and composure improve. Max Gawn: I'm a huge fan of Gawnius Maximus. At this stage I have him slightly ahead of Spencer, but I get the impression that Spencer wants it more. Max King: I was impressed with him against the Tigers. Very raw and lots to work on, but he didn't seem too out of place in my opinion. I don't think we'll see him playing AFL this year, but he should be a decent long-term prospect. Mark Jamar: I've had it with Jamar. Done. His tap-work is ordinary, he can't mark and he's injured more often than not. Let the kids play. Jack Fitzpatrick: I admire Fitzy and his resilience, but I don't see much of future for him at the MFC. At this stage, I think he's just a depth player on our list. He's behind all of the above ruckmen (except King), and he's behind Clark, Dawes and Hogan as a tall forward. I wouldn't be surprised to see him head elsewhere in the offseason.
