2019 Fixture
Does anyone know the date the fixture is released. It has to be soon

Ely Smith
Murray Bushrangers mid whose stocks have risen throughout the year. Nightmare had him as a late pick in his May player focus but now expected to go around our picks in the 20’s http://www.espn.com/afl/story/_/id/23514891/afl-draft-chris-doerre-knightmare-contested-midfielders-rise A good size at 188cm and 86kg he tested very well at the draft combine winning the standing jump, top 5 placing in left and right running jump, 9th in the agility and 7th in the yo yo. As @spirit of norm smith said in the Bailey Williams thread Ely does have a touch of the Clayton Oliver’s about him. I know it counts for little but he also just looks like a footballer. Worth considering

Farewell Jesse Hogan
This is where Sam has Jesse covered already. It used to frustrate me no end that for a supposedly super competitive bloke Hogan never bought full intensity to his tackling side. Hogan has never made this type of tackle Weid did on Dangerfield on the members wing (1.53)

2019 Leadership Group
So potential leadership candidates are Jones Viney Gawn TMc Lewis Lever May and Jetta Thats almost half the starting side. It’s a nice situation to be in after being so bereft of any leaders not so long ago

2019 Ladder Predictions
Isn’t it wonderful that we can legitimately put Melbourne in a top 4 spot of a ladder prediction And not in an ironic/humorous/yeah sure sort of way. We are contenders

Farewell Jesse Hogan
Im guessing the quote isn’t accurate as for some reason I can’t open the article but has Jesse just said he is happy to be home but doesn’t expect to play finals? Dockers supporters are going to be stoked to hear that.

2019 Free Agents
With all the talent GWS has got and lost I reckon Nick Haynes is an underrated linchpin for them.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - STEVEN MAY
Given Preuss has come from another club should 37 go to Bradtke as the junior ruck?

Often you look at old clips and it looks like old fashioned football. Sean Wight could slot easily into our current side. Goodwin would love him.

2018 AFL NAB NATIONAL DRAFT ORDER
Poor old pick 62 went from Brisbane -> Geelong -> Sydney -> North -> Melbourne.

Farewell Jesse Hogan
Feels like this is now the trade game day thread. At least we know something will happen today.

Jason Taylor Resume
Sorry I know it wasn’t directed at me but I couldn’t remember the trading they did in 2015 draft to get Oliver so l looked it up. Melbourne gave up Pick 6 Pick 29 and Our 2016 first round pick which ended up being pick 9 Gold Coast gave us Pick 3 (that ended up being 4) Pick 10 and Pick 43 So that all looks pretty fair pick wise to both clubs but we ended up with Oliver so it is a monster, monster, monster win to us.

Farewell Jesse Hogan
No footy bubble and a better music scene than Perth

2018 Player Reviews: #5 Christian Petracca
He just needs a good pre-season.......
-
Farewell Jesse Hogan
It could be a very short tenure for Peter Bell if he walks away from this trade period without their two B & F winner in Neale or Jesse Hogan. The pressure is on them. They will cave
-
Farewell Jesse Hogan
Well at least this confirms Jesse’s foot is ok. He should put it up Peter Bells end
-
Farewell Dean Kent
Good luck to him. He can’t knock back a 3 year contract. Hopefully he gets over his injury woes and plays some good footy just not against us.
-
Farewell Jesse Hogan
Yep then Jesse can say "I was always happy to stay at Melbourne, I love the city and the Club for standing by me during some difficult times" or "its been a difficult few years for me and coming back home with the chance of a new start can only be a good thing"

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - KADE KOLODJASHNIJ
I understand what you are saying but Spargo was pick 29 and Fritsch 31. There were 47 picks after Fritsch (Jarrod Garlett - Carlton was pick 78) so neither were late picks

Andrew Gaff
And Kelly can commence Operation Get Extra Zero on Contact before Saying No, No, No to North.

Farewell Jesse Hogan
Yes fwiw the footy journo I know through work mentioned that while there were always divisions within clubs there are more than the usual group of unhappy campers at Freo. It could be an interesting ride for Hogan if he ends up there
-
Farewell Jesse Hogan
Oh my that kid is unique Wherever he ends up he will put bums on seats

Andrew Gaff
This has got me completely stuffed. Surely you play footy for the success? If you are a Gaff standard player then you will have a choice of good clubs whose lists are primed for success. If it comes down to the dollars then pick the one who has the most room in their cap. I get if you are a Tyson or Kent grade player then your options will be limited, fair enough you have fewer choices and go where you can. For Gaff, however, he has actively chosen a Club that plays predominantly in Tassie or at Etihad. They have an average list and a crap jumper (admittedly I probably place more importance on this than he does) and he will rarely play in front of large crowds (think of all the times our players have mentioned when interviewed the 90,000+ crowds - the joy in Harmesy voice when talking about getting stuck into Selwood on the Members wing in the elinination final). Gaff can forget about all that. Most importantly though can anyone see Nth challenging for a flag in the near future? To me it's madness that he has chosen them

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - KADE KOLODJASHNIJ
I’ve got no idea about him but given you think he would be “one of the most talented on our list” and could be a “revelation” what do you think would be a fair pick for him?
-
Farewell Dom Tyson
“Open to a trade", you’d think he would jump at any offer of an inside mid spot. He can’t play anywhere else on the ground and he is about 6th in line at Melbourne. Goneski you would imagine
