  1. I hope like hell we don’t play them round 2, unfortunately the exact type of game we lose.
  2. Agree totally, as if the world isn’t depressing enough at the moment you have people suggesting this.
  3. How do we know our fitness is any better than the rest of the comp, yeah sure it will be better than last year but most clubs would be saying the same thing. On another note I hate the 16 min quarters feels to far removed for me a bit like twenty twenty cricket.
  4. Sorry dazzle I was being a bit tongue in cheek. But if the season does get called off, I would think clubs will have to make some cost cutting decisions.
  5. Goodwin could be made redundant if there is no footy played.
  6. Yes to a massive training base in Dingley, something like 20ha they have there future well and truly set up. It’s costing them a fortune but it will be worth it.
  7. Seems to me the club is hell bent on finding a location that ten years after we move in we will be looking for another location as it’s too small. How about following in Hawthorn’s foot steps and find a spot that in 50 years time will still big enough for both the AFLW and AFL teams.
  8. Dominating but only two goals up, hopefully wasted opportunities don’t hurt us.
  9. There are certainly a lot more optimistic people than me around here. While I think if we have some luck and a good run with injuries we could finish as high as 5th or 6th. I just think we have two many question marks on to many players and will finish outside the finals. But in saying that the club clearly rate where are list is at, so I will be judging the season on the clubs expectations. So winning a final is a pass for me. I also think both Goodwin and Mahoney will be gone if we only win 8 games for the season.
  10. From what I have been told Max is a lock, just a matter if they decide to keep Viney as Co Captain.
  11. Jeepers and people around here are talking up our depth. Even if you add Hannan and ANB that’s a very poor list for 2020.
  12. Just been told we want Jackson, second hand info from within the club.
  13. Thanks for the response pitmaster, well certainly going to be an interesting year. I think our list is more than capable of playing finals if we get momentum and things fall in place. But after the year we have just had there are so many unknowns it’s hard to feel particularly confident about making finals. And I certainly don’t feel our list is anywhere near where Richmond, Collingwood’s and West Coast’s are to challenge for the premiership but boy I hope I am wrong and the club right.
  14. Just curious did anyone outline how many games they expect to win next season? I am very worried that the club is a little delusional on where our list is and just how hard it’s going to be to get back into finals.
  15. If the club thinks he can be a gun forward I will back the club in on that, but I will not be happy if we recruit him as a ruckman or ruckman / forward. Yeah I am with you are key forward depth is very thin and question marks on it.
  16. Premiership ruckman are also easy to find from other clubs, in the last ten years 11 out of the 16 ruckman have come from other clubs. Also in the last 20 years not one All Australian ruckman has won the premiership in that year. Clubs don’t need a gun ruckman, they need a better than average one and guns on every other line. So I hope the club steers clear of a ruckman with a top ten pick.
  17. I agree totally with you regarding the game in Geelong, please AFL just give us one year off going to that dump. But I bet even though we finished second last we still cop the two hardest road trips in the AFL, Eagles and Geelong away.
  18. If Jackson has the potential to be a gun key forward then I am open to the idea of drafting him, if he however is a potential gun ruckman that can play forward a bit no way. Not one starting All Australian ruckman has won the premiership in at least the last 19 years. I personally think ruckman are overrated, Richmond have nailed it above average ruckman who cost them very little in the salary cap. Load up on key forwards, gun midfielders and a lesser extent backs. Dead set where in big trouble if a first year key position player would have more impact than Weideman next year. I am calling BS by that other clubs recruiting officer.
  19. Yeah fair enough, I didn’t follow what Carlton were offering to closely. But it just seemed like a trade that should have been done easily enough and if GC didn’t have those extra picks they wouldn’t have been as fussy.
  20. Does anyone else think if the GC Suns hadn’t been gifted so many priority picks they would have actually traded Martin? Not many clubs let talented players leave without any compensation.
  21. Just like to back up Yokozuna, I was told a couple of things late yesterday. One I have a friend who has a mate who works at the club and two we are definitely trying to bring in a forward. No mention of names but we are definitely trying for one.
  22. Given that Pert said at some point this year a key forward is one of our areas we need to bolster it will be interesting to see what happens this trade period.
