We're playing the best team in the comp who are right on their game, really disciplined. Doesn't look like we're lacking effort, just being outplayed, outexperienced and outskilled.

Melb 14 - Coll 24 at QTR Time. Sylvia has kicked both our goals - and both were set shots received from Watts kicks inside 50. The ball has spent something like 75% of time in Collingwoods forward half. As per usual we are struggling like hell to get the ball out from kick ins. Cloke already looks to be monstering Rivers 1-on-1. No comment on our forward line because the ball just isn't getting down there.

How has Cloke got free in the same spot twice?

The pity is that if we win it'll be attributed to Collingwood missing players... even though we've got our injuries too and a shitload of kids playing.

How were McDonald and Davis? Particularly McDonald. If this kid keeps coming through with the goods, Warnock could become much less required for depth, putting him open to be traded.

Ignore Footy Classified. That show doesn't talk about the footy, it just talks about the stories around footy. It's [censored]. I dont have Foxtel so i cant comment on what they show, but the only FTA footy show that actually comments on games and the performances of players is the sunday footy show. Jordie, Gys and Trenners all copped big wraps. Jordie and Trengove also got in the top 3 votes on the Triple M post-game.

Yup, exactly. The biggest highlight for me would be one of the young kids going at it with Sidebottom and winning the contest. That kid is a dead set gun and it would be a huge victory for one of our boys to beat him.

Pretty good timing to face the pies. Our best young midfielders all back in the side and gunning it, whilst 3 pies first choice mids are gone (Swan, Thomas, Beams). Potential for Gawn and Martin to do a job in the ruck too, as Wood isn't top notch and is a bit of a rake like Gawn. Stef can do a job on Leigh Brown (both in the ruck AND when Brown goes forward).

Well, it's two weeks but can be reduced to 1 with an early plea... just like Trengoves could've been 2 weeks. Good news for us at least.

The fact that it's against the best team in the comp and in front of a huge crowd on Queens Birthday should be enough... and if you factor in our last two encounters with Collingwood, i doubt they'll be lacking motivation. The fact that they're running out to play a game of football should be enough to motivate them every week...

I'm quickly warming to him. I'd love for him to add even MORE niggling/attitude to his game... someone like a Ballantyne or Milne who just frustrates and annoys the hell out of their opponents and their fans. Our team on the whole will never be full of smartasses but it's good to have at least one who can cause the opposition to chuck a wobbly and give us a 50 meter penalty or two. I reckon we'll see Wattsy getting in the faces of opposition players next year. I'd love to see him give it back. Take a big hanger and just say "that's why i went number one!".

I've calmed down since our win the other night. It'll be close for the first half, however Collingwood will find their next gear and blow us away like Hawthorn did earlier in the year. No Swan and Thomas will help us, although it also takes away a great learning opportunity from the young mids. At least Pendles is still there. I'm more concerned about us getting over Freo, WB and Richmond. Particularly WB at Etihad, if we can manage a win there then it truly shows we're on the improve.
